The Voice Season 23: The Battles Close with an Epic Steal

Team Niall: Jerome Godwin and Talia Smith sang Like I Can by Sam Smith-- I thought it was an okay performance. I would lean towards Jerome because I think he picks songs that are better for him. Chance said Jerome I thought you smashed it, Talia there were a few pitch issues for you, but mid way to the end you found it. Blake felt Jerome took the battle. Niall felt there were pitch issues throughout but still thought it was an outstanding performance. It comes down to who had the most composure. He chose Jerome.

Team Kelly: Rachel Christine and JB Somers sang Leave the Light On-- Kelly said in rehearsal you should start a group. They did sound great together and blend well. Kelly chose Rachel to move forward because she felt she was more consistent. I agree with Kelly's decision.

Team Blake: Neil Salsich sang I Heard it Through the Grapevine by Marvin Gaye-- Neil's battle partner had to withdraw from the competition for personal reasons. Neil has impressive in his solo performance of the song.

Team Chance: Noivas and Ray Uriel sang Jealous Guy by John Lennon (Donny Hathaway version)-- I love both of these guys. I think their styles are so different but they sing so well together and highlight each other well. Noivas has an old school R&B throwback sound, whereas Ray is more of the new school of R&B. That was magic! Kelly thought it was pretty even, Noivas your energy is incredible, Ray your runs are really cool. Blake loved Noivas energy. Niall loved hearing a fave song of his in a completely different way. He loved Ray's unique tone, and felt like Noivas has a voice like a wall, just so powerful. Chance chose Ray. Blake is so going to steal Noivas. He did! This is Blake's last battle steal.

Reba will be the mega mentor for the knockouts when The Voice returns in two weeks.
