The Voice Season 11: The Amazing Blinds Continue

Aaron Gibson sang Losing My Religion by REM-- Miley, Alicia, and Blake turned. Adam held off. Aaron had a really interesting voice. I thought it was a strong song choice for him. Miley sells herself by saying that she and Aaron have a similar tone.
Aaron chose Miley

Simone Gundy sang I Who Have Nothing-- Adam and Miley turned right away. I loved the strength in Simone's voice. She is a little rough around the edges but I feel like she is someone who could definitely improve with some find training. Adam walked over and pressed Alicia and Blake's buttons to make sure that they worked. Miley said she felt like she was at Simone's show.
Simone chose Adam

Samantha Landrum sang Man I Feel Like a Woman by Shania Twain-- I knew no one was going to turn, the vocal was not strong enough.

Josh Gallagher sang Stay a Little Longer by Brothers Osborne-- I liked Josh's voice very much! The song choice was fun and he kept up with it. Blake and Alicia turned. Miley regretted not turning and Adam said he is still recovering from others who sing country going to Blake's team. Alicia said she doesn't feel that music has a genre. Blake said the most fun for him is helping new country artists coming along. Blake said I was born a country artist and I wanna die that way. Alicia said think outside the box and try something different.
Josh chose Blake

Gabriel Violett sang Treat You Better by Shawn Mendes-- Alicia turned and Blake turned at the very end. I didn't love it. His voice didn't seem right for the song.
Gabriel chose Alicia

Michael Sanchez sang Use Me by Bill Withers-- He seemed really into his performance. I liked his energy a lot. The coaches were all shocked that that voice came out of him. Incredible! That was just totally unexpected. He is going to do well.
Alicia chose Michael

Darby Walker sang Stand by Me by Florence and the Machine-- I loved her vocal range. I loved the breath and the rasp in her voice, her high notes are amazing. Miley turned first, and then Alicia, followed by Blake. Darby told Alicia that No One was her song. Alicia said she has a gorgeous tone and her voice is powerful. Blake says he heard the indi-pop and the country aspect of her voice. She says she likes old music and Adam says, Blake is old!
Darby chose Miley

Austin Allsup sang Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones-- This guy has an unreal story. I love his song choice, one of my faves. Blake was the only one turned. Blake remembered him from 11 years ago and where he was. Alicia said your voice is really powerful. Alicia and Adam did a version of that song together and Austin said he had been listening to it.

Christian Fermin and Preston James both went to Team Blake

Khaliya Kimberlie sang Dibs by Kelsea Ballerini -- Blake and Miley both turned at the same time. Khaliya has so many unique things about her personally and it's crazy that she is only 16 and has that kind of voice. Miley talked a mile a minute. Blake tried to relate to the country artist in Khaliya but it wasn't enough for the Miley machine.
Khaliya chose Miley

Cooper Bascom sang I'm Gonna Be 500 Miles by the Proclaimers-- No one turned for Cooper. I felt like this wasn't the right arrangement for this song. Hopefully he will come back.

Halle Tomlinson sang New York State of Mind-- Adam turned almost immediately, followed by Alicia. I love her voice, incredible sound, her tone is sulty, very jazz like. This deserves four chairs. Where were Miley and Blake. Alicia said your voice has a signature to it and she loved how effortless it was. Adam thought she had a gorgeous voice with a lot of potential.
Halle chose Alicia

Nolan Neal sang Tiny Dancer by Elton John-- Blake and Adam both turned and Blake recognized him. Miley turned and last Alicia. He went from no chairs to a 4 chair turn! Wow, I remember Nolan, he's had quite the life so far. This was ten times better than his performance from last year. I loved this! Adam said welcome home and he thinks he is gonna win this season. Miley compared Nolan's voice to her dad's. Alicia said you're a classic all time voice. Blake said you're already an accomplished vocalist and you need to be on a team with people who are accomplished at winning. We can win this.
Nolan chose Adam

Blake says if she chooses him as her coach because he will protect her being that she is the only one like her on his team.
Bindi chose Adam

Zach Hicks sang At This Moment

Elia Esparza sang Como La Flor by Selena-- I loved Elia's voice. She is one of those artists I see growing a lot in this competition and getting better. I can see Adam doing a lot of things with her. Adam turned first, then Blake and Miley. Elia ended up choosing Adam because he turned first and she likes how he really listens to the people on his team.
Elia chose Adam

Miley chose Lane

Karlee Metzger sang Samson by Regina Spektor-- Blake and Miley turned at the last minute. Miley felt like she really had a connection with Karlee. Blake loved her full voice. Alicia added that she loved Karlee's song choice. She has a really sweet voice, and it had a lot of feeling and vulnerability.
Karlee chose Miley

I feel like this definitely should have been a four chair turn. Alicia said his voice is striking and she knows what good music should sound like. Blake said I felt some sort of kinship to your voice, and I would love to be your coach. Miley said let's sit down and you can play the guitar and I'll sing.
Josh chose Alicia

Their relationship will definitely grow this season.

Notorious, series premiered on September 22nd @ 9pm on ABC-- What makes me so excited about this show more than the premise is the two stars, Piper Perabo (Coyote Ugly, Covert Affairs) and Daniel Sunjata (Graceland). Perabo is TV producer Julia George and Sunjata is Hollywood lawyer Jake Gregorian. This premise is the alliance formed between these two and the effect of it on Hollywood.

Pitch, series premiered on September 22nd @ 9pm on FOX-- Probably the most critically acclaimed new series this season; Pitch shows us the world with the first female Major League Baseball Pitcher. Kylie Bunby is Ginny Baker who makes HISTORY when she is called up from the minor leagues to play for the San Diego Padres. Of course, the media coverage is crazy and Ginny does not like the attention at all. For it's part, MLB has been extremely supportive of the series.

Chicago Med, season two premiered on September 22nd @ 9pm on NBC-- This season is all about change. Members of the team are moving to different departments, getting promotions etc. Nurse April is dealing with a recent tuberculosis diagnosis. Natalie has finally taken off her wedding band. Damon and Enzo, enemies turned friends, were possessed by an evil spirit that sent them on a killing spree. The Voice: Season 11 The Blinds Continue

Sa'rayah sang Drown in my Own Tears by Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin-- Miley and Alicia turned. What happened to Adam and Blake? Miley made a lackluster pitch for Sa'rayah. Alicia said you blew me all the way back to the galaxy with your voice. Miley said she's not the obvious choice. I loved this girl, to me, this was a 4 chair turn, and I cannot understand why all coaches didn't turn for her. Her voice was so special, and just oozed emotion. She is one to watch.
Sa'rayah chose Miley

Ethan Tucker sang Roxanne by The Police-- Wow, another shocker, Blake and Adam turned, and he ended up choosing Blake! Ethan chose Blake because he felt he would challenge him musically. Blake laughed at Adam saying you said I think we would get along musically, what does that mean? I thought Ethan was okay, he had a rock/ reggae sound that was kind of interesting so it will definitely be cool to see how he develops that.
Ethan chose Blake

Katie Colosimo sang Stone Cold by Demi Lovato-- No one turned for her. Adam said she may have been too emotional. I liked her emotion.

We McDonald sang Feeling Good by Michael Buble-- Miley, Alicia, and Blake turned at the beginning. She has a very deep and soulful voice. Her voice is very rich. Adam joined the party as well. Unbelievable that she is only 17! Blake said he hit his button out of jealousy and he would do anything to be her coach. Her family cheered. Alicia liked how she is so perfectly herself. Adam said he can teach her things and will throw a party for her if she picks him as her coach. Adam said Alicia just dropped the mic on us but I have done things in the past five/ six years to help people win this show.
We chose Alicia

Andrew DeMuro sang Vienna by Billy Joel-- Blake and Adam both turned. Adam said I understand what you're about. Blake likes to lean on his track record. I think I'd love to hear more from Adam and see how he progresses. Finally....
Andrew chose Adam

Billy Gilman sang When We Were Young by Adele-- Adam turned followed by Miley. I love his voice. I remember him as a child! This is crazy, his voice is amazing. I love seeing him mature, Blake and Alicia turned too! 4 chairs, totally deserved. Blake said I know you, now you found your sound and you know where you are supposed to be. Miley said let me take care of you. Billy opened for Miley's dad. Adam said he turned first and now he isn't sitting down til Billy chooses him. Alicia said what she loves most is that he is now the person that he wants to be. Adam believes he can win the whole thing.
Billy chose Adam

Nathalie Vincent sang Hold Back the River by James Bay -- No one turned, Adam went up and hugged her and Miley joined them and they all said she should come back.

Sophia Urista sang Come Together by The Beatles-- I loved all the gravel and growl in her voice. Miley and Alicia both turned. Blake said he was intimidated by her voice. Alicia said let's stay together so we can scare all the men in the world. Alicia heard Janis Joplin and Tie Turner combined and said she'd love to work with her. Miley felt like she was at her show like a rock and roll Dolly Parton.
Sophia chose Miley

Brendan Fletcher sang Jolene by Ray Lamontagne-- Adam and Alicia turned, then Miley. Alicia sees his authenticity, Miley thinks he is rad, and Adam said his voice could be the voice. I like Brendan's sound, it's very blues, folk, and rock. I loved it.
Brendan chose Adam

Dan Shafer sang Marry Me-- I love the sweetness of his voice. He is special! Blake was the only one that turned, he was so smart to turn for Dan! Adam said he was tender and had strong moment. Blake said Adam screwed the pooch. Blake said your voice sounded so young to me. Miley said Dan is an image to never give up on your dreams.
Blake chose Dan

Lauren Diaz sang If I Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys-- Lauren is so beautiful and when she sings, she is full of life. I found her performance so heartfelt and just real. Alicia turned first of course, followed by Miley and Blake. Adam didn't turn. Blake said I am willing to make an ass of myself to prove that I wanna be your coach. Miley said, sing Alicia and go with me, it's just crazy. Blake said I don't accept that you're gonna be on Alicia's team. Alicia started singing If I Ain't Got You. Lauren's boyfriend proposed to her!
Lauren chose Alicia

The Voice: Season 11-- The Blinds Begin

Jason Warrior sang Living for the City by Stevie Wonder-- Jason has a big voice and earns turns from Alicia and Adam. Alicia reminds Jason of his mom, he had a tough upbringing and she was his rock. I guess that appealed to him because, Jason chose Alicia.

Dave Moisan sang Sex and Candy my Marcy Playground-- Dave used to be a swimmer and swan against Michael Phelps! I actually really like Dave's authentic rock sound, he has that smooth, yet edgy voice. He receives a four chair turn, well deserved. He says he met Maroon 5 years ago. Miley hugs him, Adam promises he won't try to make Dave like him. None of that works.
Dave chooses Alicia

Courtnie Ramirez sang Mama Knows Best by Jessie J-- Courtnie for me is someone who has tons of potential. I love her voice, I just think she needs to work on her dynamics. Miley and Alicia turn, Adam considered it, but said he wanted to see Miley and Alicia duke it out. Miley loves her swag, and Alicia says her voice was so alive. At the end though, it was Miley selling youth that helped seal the deal.
Courtnie chose Miley

Sundance Head sang I've Been Loving You Too Long by Otis Redding-- I knew I remembered Sundance from somewhere, he was on American Idol! I genuinely liked this guy and I still like him now. He's straight up country and Adam and Blake turn for him. Sundance admits he was really nervous and promises he'll do better next time. Alicia asks where he learned to sing and he says "you" and sings a line from her song.
Sundance chose Blake

Maggie Renfrew-- No Turns but super humble, hope she comes back.

Ali Caldwell sang Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande-- Everyone turns for her, and truthfully, I didn't love her as much as the coaches did. Ali surprisingly chose Miley, which I completely don't get. I would have chosen Alicia or Adam if I were her. Ali chose Miley

Riley Elmore sang The Way You Look Tonight by Michael Buble-- Adam and Blake turned almost immediately. I love Riley, he is super talented, and his voice is special. What he does is outside of his time. Adam said he loves that song and sings it like once a week. Blake said if I could come back as anyone, it would be Dean Martin. Blake said you have an open lane ahead of you, and the only problem is you're about to pick the wrong coach. Adam then goes on stage and duets with Riley.
Riley chose Adam

Dana Harper sang Jealous by Nick Jonas-- Dana has a very deep and full voice. Alicia turned, then Blake, then Adam. Alicia said she hears Dana's life and relates to her. Adam feels like Dana has everything. Blake said she needs to explore that lower area of her voice, he wants to guide her.
Dana chose Blake

Gabe Broussard sang Lonely Night in Georgia by Mark Broussard-- Wow, I loved the song voice, his vocal style, and the rasp in his voice. Blake turned early, and Miley turned at the end. It's crazy that he is 15 years old. Miley said you don't sound 15, I want you on my team. Blake said you sounded like such a friggin stud. I've been waiting for you. I want you on my team bad.
Gabe chose Blake

Chris Cron sang Never Tear Us Apart by -- Wow, I am shocked that no one turned. Alicia thought his voice was beautiful, she wanted to feel it more. Adam thinks he has a great voice, and he should come back.

Christian Cuevas sang How Am I Supposed to Live Without You by Michael Bolton-- I loved the emotion in Christian's voice. Miley predicted what Blake would say.... Blake said I am fan regardless of if you choose me. Alicia wants to know where he got the emotion and she said she really felt him. Adam said your emotional sincere way you were singing made me excited. I want someone who can convey what's in their heart and you blew my mind.
Christian chose Alicia

The show is shot on location in New York City at the insistence of James who wanted the show to feel more real.

2 Broke Girls, the sixth season premieres on October 10th @ 9pm on CBS-- Max and Caroline open their own dessert bar. J Petto (Andy Dick) returns all the way back from Season 2. Rapper 2 Chainz guests as himself when he goes to the dessert bar. Sophie and Oleg have a baby!

The Voice, the eleventh season premieres on September 19th @ 8pm on NBC-- Adam Levine and Blake Shelton return and Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus join the gentlemen in the chairs looking for talent.

Jane the Virgin, the third season premieres on October 17th @ 9pm on The CW-- At the end of last season Jane and Michael were ready to walk down the aisle and Michael was shot! Michael will be fighting for his life in the season opener. This season is a tug of war between Michael and Rafael. Who will Jane choose and will Rafael still care? Is Xo with child? Will Petra emerge from her immobile state? One thing is for sure, Jane will lose her viginity, to who is the big question. And finally Gloria and Emilio Estefan will guest star.

Conviction premieres on October 3rd @ 10pm on ABC-- Lawyer and former first daughter Hayes Morrison (Hayley Atwell) is forced to accept a job offer from her arch nemesis, NY District Attorney Wayne Wallis (Eddie Cahill) in order to avoid jail time for her cocaine possession so as not to mess up her mom's senatorial campaign. She has to head up the team at the Conviction Integrity Unit and turn over wrongful conviction where there is doubt or suspicion.

Timeless premieres on October 3rd @ 10pm on NBC-- Timeless has been one of those shows I have been excited about all Summer. It stars Goran Visnjic (Dr. Luka Kovac from ER!) as Garcia Flynn a time traveling criminal. He steals a time machine and goes back in time to change the course of American history in an attempt to destroy the county. A team of experts is put together to try and stop him: history professor Lucy, a soldier Wyatt, and a scientist Rufus-- played respectively by Abigail Spencer (All My Children), Matt Lanter (Liam on 90210), and Malcolm Barrett (The Hurt Locker).

The Olympics: Day 15 Rio

The final day of competition in Rio was full long distance races, a couple of relays, and a diving event where a US champion hoped to repeat his success. In the relays, the US Team shined brightest striking gold in the men's and women's 4x400m. Jamaica, this time around, could only be second best. This last day of competition proved one thing unequivocally, Team USA is a force to be reckoned with.

Men's 1,500m Final

1. Matthew Centrowitz, USA, 3.50.00
2. Taoufik Makhloufi, Algeria, 3.50.11
3. Nicholas Willis, New Zealand, 3.50.24

Men's 500m Final

1. Mohamed Farah, Great Britain, 13.03.30
2. Paul Chelimo, USA, 13.03.90
3. Hagas Gebrhiwet, Ethiopia, 13.04.35
(So happy for Paul Chelimo who had been wrongfully disqualified, he was reinstated and won that silver medal that he so righfully earned!)

Women's 4x400m Relay Finals

1. USA, 3.19.06 (Team USA: Courtney Okolo, Natasha Hastings, Phyllis Francis, Allyson Felix)
2. Jamaica, 3.20.34
3. Great Britain, 3.25.88

Men's 4x400m Relay Finals

1. USA, 2.57.30 (Team USA: Arman Hall, Tony McQuay, Gil Roberts, LaShawn Merritt)
2. Jamaica, 2.58.16
3. Bahamas, 2.58.39

Men's 10m Platform Diving Finals

1. Chen Aisen, China, 585.30
2. German Sanchez, Mexico, 532.70
3. David Boudia, USA, 525.25

The Olympics: Day 14 Rio

Jenn Suhr, London gold medalist, wasn't even able to clear 4.70m. Surh was battling a virus almost the entire time she was in Rio, and was anxious to get home and deal with her health and getting better. It was Stefanidi of Greece who won with fewer misses than Sandi Morris of the US. When both couldn't clear 4.90m, Stefanidi secured the gold.

Women's Pole Vault Final

1. Ekaterini Stefanidi, Greece, 4.85m
2. Sandi Morris, USA, 4.85m
3. Eliza McCartney, New Zealand, 4.80m

Team USA had a problem qualifying in the Women's 100m Relay, but it didn't keep them from the final. Allyson Felix had dropped the baton in qualifying, a move that is uncharacteristic for the most decorated female track star, but then it was determined that the reason she dropped is because she was bumped. The US were given a chance to run again and were reinstated. And their run in the finals would not be an easy one, the US Women won on the inside lane defending their title with the second fastest run in history.

Women's 4x100m Relay Finals

1. USA, 41.01 (Team USA: Tianna Bartoletta, Allyson Felix, English Gardner, Tori Bowie)
2. Jamaica, 41.36
3. Great  Britain, 41.77

The Men's relay team has been haunted for a little while; and they are fully aware of it. For this Olympics, the US men said that they felt like they were very prepared going into it. And when they made it to the finals, they seemed poised to break a curse that had been in effect since they last won a medal in this event which was a silver in 2004. Why were they disqualified? Apparently the baton was passed outside of the designated passing zone. The curse continues and the men look to change their destiny next time around on one of the biggest stages in the world. For Usain Bolt, he completed what would be his final face at the Games.

Men's 4x100m Relay Finals

1. Jamaica, 37.27
2. Japan, 37.60
3. Canada, 37.64
**USA, disqualified (Team USA: Mike Rodgers, Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay, and Trayvon Bromell)
