The Bachelorette Season 6 Week 2--- Ali!

Highlights from last week:

Ali giving Roberto the first impression rose; this man is absolutely so sweet and so sincere, and he taught Ali to salsa dance on the first night.

Thank you Justin "Rated R" Rego and Craig M. for showing your true colors on the first night; both of you are first class jerks.

Hotties of the season: Roberto Martinez and Jesse Beck (and I don't mean just hot for what they look like; I mean hot for who they are inside too. ;) ) with all hope Ali will keep these two around for a while.

This week May 31st, 2010:

1. Ali had her first one on one with Frank, yawn! There is something I find really weird about this guy, it's like he is too clingy and too goofy. The date starts off with a convertible ride, and a visit to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The rest of the date takes place at the famous Hollywood sign.... eww, why were they kissing under the Hollywood sign, I don't see any chemistry between these two.

Frank says: "Ali and I have amazing chemistry"......... not, "I am here to the end". Spoiler Alert! Reality Steve is reporting that Frank has a kinda sorta girlfriend/ ex girlfriend back home who he ultimately decides he wants to get back together with. Where does this leave the other guys and where does this leave Ali, especially if he gets far in the competition.

Frank is already talking about how it is gonna upset him to see Ali with the other guys. Ali wants Frank to know that she is crazy about them; the kissing begins again, and Frank gets a rose at the very end of the date.

*Back at the house, Craig M. causes more drama picking on the hot Jesse because he has tattoos, he is young, and he is from a small town in Missouri. Craig M.-- grow up and get a life! Seriously dude! I also want to say I really respect how Jesse handled the situation.

2. Group date-- Jonathan, Justin, Ty, Chris N., Hunter, Chris H., Kirk, Tyler, Steve, Craig R., Craig M., Kasey

The group date takes place in Malibu, and the guys participate in a photo shoot for a charity calendar.
Photo shoot highlights:
Kirk and Ali's one on one time; they seemed to click, I liked the chemistry going on between them.
Ty singing to Ali on the beach was so cute; her eyes were so happy.
Jonathan rocked a black speedo.

Ty revealed that he had been married before; Ali was touched that Ty shared that with her.
Jonathan warned Ali that Craig M. is dangerous and shouldn't be there.
Jonathan's feelings were solidified when Craig M. started making fun of him, and Jonathan commented that he has no regard for other people's feelings.
Justin was totally slimy when he got his one on one time with Ali, and then complained when Ty got a rose and said he felt Ty was fake cause he took out his guitar. Spoiler Alert Justin, also reported by Reality Steve, has a girlfriend back home and just came on the show to get publicity for his wrestling career. His girlfriend initially agreed to him going because he said he really wanted to be with her and told her of his real intentions. What she didn't know was that he not only was stringing her along but some other girl as well. What a slime ball.

Ty received the group date rose.

3. The next one on one date really made me happy cause I got to look at Jesse Beck for a while, and he is extremely easy on the eyes. Ali says Jesse is hot and sexy but she wants to see if they are compatible. A limo takes Jesse to Ali and a private jet. She says although she was scared of flying Jesse made her feel comfortable. After the plane lands they get into a red Ferrari and Ali drives down the Las Vegas strip.

They go to the new pool "Liquid", and they look hot as a potential couple; the two have lots of chemistry as they splash around in the water together.

As it turns to night, the two have dinner in a private suite overlooking the entire city. Ali looks beautiful and Jeese looks handsome. At this point, Ali is not sure she is going to give him a rose, but after they discuss where Jesse is from and he expresses getting to know Ali more, Ali gives him a rose.

They then go to the night club "Haze" which is shut down just for them, and they listen to a performance from the musician Jamie Cullum as they dance, and finally they kiss at the end of the night. I think these two have much more chemistry than Ali and Frank. The kiss is pretty passionate.

4. The Cocktail Party: Ali says her goal is to spend more time with the guys who she didn't see on dates this week. I didn't see her spend any time with John C. but she did spend time with Roberto (because what woman wouldn't?) and with Chris L.

Chris L. expresses on his one on one time with Ali that his family is a major part of his life.

Ali's one on one time with Roberto is full of sparks. She blushes as the comments on how handsome Roberto is and she blushes even more as he tells Ali that she is gorgeous. He tells her that he played baseball in college and was recruited by the Rockies and Twins after college so the two play catch out in the front yard. I really like the pace Roberto is taking this at. ;)

Scary alert! This guy Kasey scares me; his voice is weird. Even weirder is that Frank, who already has a rose, steps in, and he tells Ali that he feels like she is his girlfriend already.

Craig M. says he is here to have a good time with the guys......umm what about Ali?

Craig M. gathers the guys together to find out who called him dangerous, as if you don't already know? He questions Jonathan who says his conversations with Ali are private, and he doesn't owe him anything (good for you Jonathan, I totally agree). Jonathan tells him to take some accountability for his own actions and the issues that he has. He says that is the reason Craig M. is always attacking other guys in the house, like Jesse, because he cannot get over his own issues.

The Top 14!

Frank (umm go home to your ex!)
Ty
Jesse (the hottie)
Kasey (ehhh! why?)
Hunter
Roberto (the other hottie)
Chris L.
Justin (gag!)
Steve
Kirk
John C.
Craig R.

Chris N.
Jonathan

Eliminated: Chris H., Tyler V., Craig M. (buh bye and good riddance!)

Swizz "mizzes" the Point!

What I should first explain was that this piece was written in response to an article on MTV News reporting that Alicia Keys is pregnant and engaged to music producer Swizz Beatz. Later reports say that Ms. Keys is four months along, and Swizz is not yet formally separated from his first wife.
Here is the link for the article I based this piece on: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1640347/20100528/keys_alicia.jhtml

I think Swizz Beatz, or whatever his name is, is a bum. He needs to man up and say that he made a mistake by getting involved with an amazing woman before he divorced his current wife.

Also he says, "People get divorced every f---in' day. They need to worry about more serious things." Really? Really? You know what, it is ok for people to get divorced if they are in a bad relationship or in a loveless relationship, but what does it say about his regard for marriage when he can't even divorce his first wife before he moves on to the next relationship.

Alicia Keys is such a beautiful person; I have so much respect for her as a woman, and who is to say he won't do the same thing to her that he did to his still current wife? He is thinking with his brain below the belt, and he only cares about himself, he has no regard for other people and that can include his soon to be ex wife, and his soon to be wife. It is ok to love someone, but it isn't ok to love when you aren't totally free to love (i.e. because you are married to someone else), and it isn't ok when loving someone else hurts the person you are supposed to love.

And is it serious, Swizz, when people go out there and just do whatever makes them feel good in life without caring about other people! We need more people out there like Alicia who care about others and care about helping people. She is such an inspiration to me and to so many other young women. I am in awe of her talent and her inner beauty, and I only wish her the very best in life. I hope everything works out as well as it can.

I like Swizz's music, but I do not agree with his life choices, and I hope the saying isn't true, I hope a tiger can change its stripes, but so far that has never happened. He needs to stop trying to justify his bad behavior, be a man dude! Seriously. Stop making excuses!

The Top 4 Go To The Movies with Jamie Foxx on American Idol Season 9

I think what Simon ended up saying at the end of the night was what this night was all about: The duets were better than the solo performances.

01 Lee Dewyze sang "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal. Randy found it pitchy and thought he should have stayed true to his rocker self. Ellen loved it. Kara said it was a hard song to sing, but said despite that, she can still hear Lee on the radio right now. Simon said it bordered on karaoke and he was trying too hard to sound like the original. He also added that some parts were out of turn. I have no doubt that Lee is talented but this was the wrong song selection for him.

02 Michael Lynche sang "Will You Be There" by Michael Jackson. Randy said just all right, it never really took off for me. Kara said she wanted him to go back to his special performances on the stage and think about what made them special. Simon said he didn't get the song choice but felt he gave 100%. This performance left Mike the weak one out as far as performances go this week.

03 Casey James sang "Mrs. Robinson" by Simon and Garfunkel. Ellen liked that he came back from last week and did something different. Kara said Casey is fighting to stay in the competition. Simon found it a bit lazy. I have to say I disagree with Simon on this, I, like Kara, saw Casey's fight, and I think based on this performance and his skills in the duet, he may squeeze into the top three.

04 Crystal Bowersox sang "I'm Alright" by Kenny Loggins. Randy liked how she switched the song up to fit her. Ellen said she "crystalized" the song and made it better; Kara agreed. Simon told Crystal she was back in the game.

Lee and Crystal sang "Falling Slowly"-- Randy said it could be a hit right now, amazing. Ellen called then Captain and Tennille. Kara said it was one of her favorite moments from the entire season. She said they brought out the best in each other and supported each other. Simon said I don't know if I would call that good; I would call it fantastic. Crystal called Lee her musical crush. To me, this performance was magical.

Casey and Michael sang "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman"-- Randy called their voices sultry and sexy. Kara said both duets were incredible and they sounded great. Simon said well done and thought the duets were better than the solo performances.

The Top Five Sing Sinatra on American Idol Season 9

This week the top five took on a real American Idol, the original crooner, Frank Sinatra. They did it with the help of singer and musician Harry Connick Jr. Connick is the first mentor in the history of American Idol to create the arrangements for the contestants as well as aid them in their performances on stage. Overall, I felt he was one of the best mentors ever.

01 Aaron sang "Fly Me to the Moon"-- Randy said tonight we are wondering who is in it to win it, and I think you did a good job. Ellen thought his vocals were beautiful. Kara thought it wasn't as strong as last week, and she told him to work on his charisma and stage presence because she believes he will still be there next week. Simon said it didn't have enough conviction, but people like him because he actually tries, and he gives him credit for that and believes it will buy him some votes. I think this week the bottom two is Aaron and Casey, so who knows what is going to happen. I would be sad to lose either one of them.
Score: 4

02 Casey sang "Blue Skies"-- Randy said it was pitchy, his worst performance ever, and he was out of his element. Ellen thought it was stiff and did not feel effortless to her. Kara said she didn't like how he held the notes. Simon said the problem is that you weren't fantastic. Harry admitted that Casey was much better in rehearsal and said it is hard to hear the band up the stage. I have to say I really think the judges got this wrong, more than anything else this season. Casey was nowhere near as bad as they said he was.
Score: 4

03 Crystal sang "Summer Wind"-- Randy thought it was okay, but sleepy. Ellen called her impressive because there are so many different sides to her as an artist. Kara said that she liked the way that Crystal phrased this song. Simon said the first half was small night club, and the second half was better; her second week in a row of just an okay performance. Again, I disagreed with the judges overall, I liked the way Crystal came across in this song and I liked how she performed.
Score: 5

04 Mike sang "The Way You Look Tonight"-- Randy said Mike is in it to win it, unbelievable arrangement and unbelievable vocals. Ellen said he was very comfortable on the stage. Kara said you took us on a journey, but you didn't lose yourself. Simon said that he felt that everything just clicked, and the first three performances were just okay. Again, this was a week where big Mike impressed me, I am really surprised that he has done this well and made it this far in the competition. Big props to big Mike.
Score: 5

05 Lee sang "That's Life"-- Ellen thinks if this were his final performance he would win the whole thing. Randy liked how he did not lose his rock edge. Kara echoed Ellen's thought and believes that if Lee continues to believe in himself he can win American Idol. Simon said Harry brought out Lee's confidence and personality and believe it was by far the best performance of the night.
Score: 4.9
