The Voice Season 16: Amazing Battles Are Never Too Much

Team Legend-- Khalid is the advisor, and Matthew Johnson and Shawn Sounds are singing Never Too Much by Luther Vandross-- First off, they look like they are performing at a BIG party. They are enthusiastic, such exuberance when they sing. They are truly enjoying themselves. The harmonies when they sing together are tight! I love both of them! Standing ovation from the coaches. Adam said it was like a tennis match, both of you are great singers. Blake said it's impossible to choose one over the other. I wish there was a button I could push to make you a duo. Kelly said you two are phenomenal, that's why you are both four chair turns, right. Matthew you are a light, and Shawn your runs are so crazy cool. Matthew I have to go with you because you make me smile with my heart. John said you both have a love of music in you.
John chose Shawn, someone needs to steal Matthew! Adam and Kelly with the steal. Adam said I like to lead by example and Kelly said I like drama! Matthew chose Kelly

Team Kelly-- Kelsea Ballerini is the advisor, The Bundys and Mikaela Astel are singing Songbird by Eva Cassidy-- They all sounded beautiful, it was so gentle and vulnerable. I loved how the harmonies were so good.  Adam said Mikaela you're so great and you're so young. The Bundys, you guys are super sweet and that was so graceful. Kelly said she needed to go with whoever was more ready for the knockouts so she picked.....
The Bundys ..... I think Mikaela was nervous.

Team Blake-- Brooks and Dunn are the advisors, Gyth Rigdon and Rod Stokes are singing Drunk Me by Mitchell Tenpenny-- I think this was Rod, but it was close. They are both great country vocalists. Rod has a unique voice, and Gyth has a killer range. Kelly said Rod slayed that song, and Gyth you were so comfortable on the stage. John said Rod's vocal tone is unique, and Gyth has great vocal runs; he'd go with Gyth. Adam said it was pretty even, but I think Rod you took this one.
Blake chose Gyth, wow and Adam really wanting a country singer stole Rod! Amazing!

Team Adam-- Charlie Puth is the advisor-- Domenic Haynes and Trey Rose are singing I Need a Dollar by Aloe Blacc-- Domenic actually sounds a little bit like Aloe. He has that same grit in his voice. Trey dirtied it up though which was awesome. Blake said hats off to both of you. Trey you hit those cool falsetto notes, and Domenic you have such a freedom when you perform. Kelly said it was very even. John said Domenic you are so different, I wanted you on my team. Adam said you guys did everything we talked about. Trey you had so much energy and excitement you went hard.
Adam chose Domenic

Team Legend-- Savannah Brister and Maelynn Jarmon are singing When We Were Young by Adele-- Very well matched, they are both really good! I would go with Savannah. I just really liked the tone of her voice. Blake said Maelynn you reached the bar again, and Savannah we figured out that you are incredible. Kelly said Savannah was the winner for her.
John chose Maelynn

Team Kelly-- Beth Griffith Manley and Jej Vinson are singing Jealous by Labrinth-- Wow, even in rehearsals they are incredible! Incredible! They were both vocally there for each other. John said Jej your tone was interesting and cool, same with you Beth. Adam said the unison you guys did was the best I have even heard. I am going to go with Jej. Blake said Beth you were incredible, and Jej you were matching her note for note.
Kelly chose Jej, and John came in with the steal for Beth

Top 3 Battles Tonight--- Matthew and Shawn, Domenic and Trey, and Beth and Jej! Amazing Performances!

The Voice Season 16: A Good Night for The Blinds

Celia Babini sang I Don't Want to Be You Anymore by Billie Eilish-- Deserving four chair turn! Celia has such a different sound. I have never heard this song but she sounded like Florence Welch  and a little like Fiona Apple as John mentioned. Blake said her performance was captivating, you're a champ. I think you're incredible. Kelly said she loves that song and loves that she sounds so different from the original artist. Adam said we're missing a Fiona Apple right now; you're the future right now. He said Celia is a unicorn and she said that she connected with Adam.
Celia chose Adam

Cecily Hennigan sang Foolish Games by Jewel-- She was incredible and Blake scored her cause no one else turned. She was so mature and that song was gorgeous on her. She sang it so beautifully. Adam said he was ashamed of himself for not turning. John said your voice is developed beyond your years (she is 16). Kelly said I am kinda glad you're on his team, cause it's so weird. Blake said I don't think you know what you're capable of.
Blake chose Cecily

Kalvin Jarvis sang  A Good Night by John Legend-- He has a great voice, I am surprised more coaches didn't turn. Kelly liked the lows in his voice. Adam called him ridiculous and said his song choice was bold. John said you picked my song, and I am picky. Blake said when John didn't push for his own song, I got distracted, I started thinking about breakfast food.
Kalvin chose Adam

Ava August sang House of the Rising Sun-- No turns

David Owens sang I Can't Make You Love Me by Bonnie Raitt-- Kelly was the only one who turned. He had an incredible voice too! Wow! I loved the rasp and the breaks in his voice, so gorgeous. It is insane that no one else turned for him!
Kelly chose David

Presley Tennant sang Stone Cold by Demi Lovato-- She has a mature voice! This is a great song for her, Demi Lovato is popular this year. Another one chair turn for Kelly. John said you picked a really good song and you sounded incredible in the higher range areas. Kelly said I am so excited that they are dumb. She has a mighty range.
Kelly chose Tennant

Rod Stokes sang To Love Somebody by The Bee Gees-- He is a country soul singer, he compares himself to a male Kelly Clarkson. He has great tone in his voice, and he feels the music. Loved this! All the coaches turned except for Kelly. John said I loved the gravel but clarity in your voice. Adam said I don't know what took these guys to turn. It was effortless. Blake is pushing the country part of himself and Rod.
Rod chose Blake who completed his team!

Calista Garcia sang Wishing Well-- No turns.

Andrew Jannako  sang Beautiful Crazy by Luke Combs--  It's funny, but whenever country artists go on a team other than Team Blake, they are not as impressive. I liked Andrew but I didn't find his voice great. Blake is trying to get Andrew to choose Kelly and not Adam. Blake said there is a reason that country singers don't go to Team Adam. Adam said you will be the only country singer on my team.
Andrew chose Adam and Adam's Team is now full!
Kayslin chose John

Maddi Fraser sang Get It While You Can by Janis Joplin-- No turns!

Jackson Marlow sang Old Troubadour by George Strait-- Jackson is Red Marlow's nephew! Kelly said Prince Charming you are a little young and I am married, but I will take you for my team.  I thought it was interesting how they did not play up the Red Marlow part of things more.
Kelly chose Jackson

Top 3 tonight--- Celia, David, and Presley

The Voice Season 16: Tell Me You Love the Blinds

Beth Griffith Manley sang Til You Come Back to Me by Aretha Franklin-- She has a beautiful voice and she is a technically sound singer. You can tell that she has Motown written all over her. Adam said I love you, and she said I love you too Adam, and he said, no, you don't understand, I'm in love with you. I missed my opportunity. Kelly said I am so excited you're on the show! He thought she had a lot of guts choosing Aretha as her blind audition. John and Kelly turned, and Beth identified with the rasp in Kelly's voice.
Beth chose Kelly

Selkii sang I Try by Macy Gray-- Selkie has a unique voice and tone. Adam and Blake turned. Adam liked her song choice and vibe. He felt like it was important to get Selkie on his team because his wife would love her being that she is South African. Blake tells her he has never been to South Africa but he would like to think that she is country over there. Blake also liked her singer/ songwriter vibe.
Selkie chose Blake

Jae Jen--  No one turned. I didn't think the song wasn't interesting enough. John said it sounded too clean and safe.

Denton Arnell sang Hold On We're Going Home by Drake-- I actually felt vibes of John Legend in his voice, so it was super cool that John turned so quickly. He had this comfy and familiar vibe to his voice. John liked how he was so creative with the melody of the song. I am a little bit surprised that more coaches did not turn, he had such an easy sound.
John chose Denton

Ciera Dumas sang Tell Me You Love Me by Demi Lovato-- Adam and John turned right away. I loved the rasp in her voice. I was digging how she slightly chained the melody of the song at the beginning and then when it got going, I was saying, I like this! Adam said what you are doing screams what this show is all about. John said I felt the power, pain, and emotion in your voice. You have a story to tell, and I would love for you to tell it here on The Voice. Kelly loved the rasp in her voice. Blake compared her to Bonnie Tyler. Adam said your voice is like right here, you're unstoppable, you could win this thing.
Ciera chose Adam

Andrew Sevener sang Honky Tonk Women by The Rolling Stones-- Andrew is an authentic country guy, very clear. This song worked well for him in terms of his musical style and showcasing his guitar skills.  Kelly said I am tired of turning for country artists and having them choose Blake. John liked his guitar solo. Blake says that he can hear Hank Williams Jr. in his voice.

Mari sang Boo'd Up by Ella Mai-- Her voice was so freaking exciting. I was just smiling listening to her sing. Mari told John she listens to him a lot and that he did a duet with Ella Mai. Adam said you should be in 1976, I believe I can integrate you into this show the best. Blake tells her to choose John and Mari chose Adam! She said I picked Adam because I felt like he wanted to do the best for me in this competition.
Mari chose Adam

Crystal Rose sang Wicked Games by Chris Issak-- Wow! I need to be honest, I am a little surprised no one turned. Adam said it is one of his favorite songs and he urged her to come back again. John said it's a matter of you putting it together in a better package.
Blake said he was ready to push, he loved her chest voice.

Abby Kasch sang Here for the Party by Gretchen Wilson -- Personally wasn't as excited as Blake and Kelly but I always look for people to prove me wrong. Blake and Kelly turned. Of course Blake pushes that he is country, and Adam pushes for Abby to pick Kelly. Kelly was so surprised that Abby picked her.
Abby chose Kelly

Mikaela Astel sang Electric Love by -- Loved her! I cannot believe the maturity in her voice at 14. She does, as Kelly said, have incredible tone, and that really sets her apart. Kelly said your tone cannot be taught, it is so cool and so vibey. I am so happy you're here. John said I loved your tone, you would stand out from the crowd. I think you're gonna be a star. Adam was so cute with her, he told her to close her eyes, follow her heart, and go with her first choice.
Mikaela chose Kelly

Anthony Ortiz sang That's What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction
Adam chose Anthony

Oliv Blu sang On and On by Erykah Badu
John chose Oliv

Kayla Seeber sang Baby One More Time by Britney Spears--I didn't love it. It was too aggressive. It's almost like she was pushing too hard. I didn't like her song selection. I loved Kelly's feedback. She compared her to Gwen but said she was waiting for that sweetness and ache that Gwen has in her voice.

Oh Wow! Crystal and Kayla have been chosen for the comeback stage.

Shawn Sounds sang All My Life by KC and Jo Jo-- Yes! They all took forever to turn. I was in from the beginning. Shawn had an amazing song choice; he sounded John said you nailed it, you deserved 4 chairs. Adam said I should have turned when I had the instinct. Blake thought the triple lindy ending was incredible. He said we're not meant to be in the same genre. I am meant to make you the best you can be. Kelly loved that he is a teacher.
Shawn chose John

Amazing show! Who wasn't good tonight? Top 3 for me-- Ciera, Mari, and Shawn

The Voice Season 16: Wave After Wave of The Blinds

Betsy Ade sang Hunger by Florence and the Machine-- Loved Betsy's voice, huge fan. What I did think was strange though is how she did not really interact with the coaches in terms of their comments on her performance.  Adam said I hear Florence cause I know how much you love her but I also hear Annie Lennox. John loved the way she delivered the big notes. Kelly said she should sing Nothing Compares to You by Sinead O'Connor. Adam said I want to bounce off the walls with you. I feel like Betsy already knew she was going to choose John.
Betsy chose John

Dalton Dover sang Don't Close Your Eyes by Keith Whitley-- Blake turned quickly and Kelly was singing along. His voice is soulful. He is a combination of country soul. Blake said what are you all doing! John said I felt like you were coming up under the note a lot. Blake said I know why you did that, hell yes. I cannot believe I got away with one right there.
Blake chose Dalton

Rebecca Howell sang The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia by Reba McEntire -- Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of this performance. Maybe it was the wrong song but I wasn't as excited as the coaches were. It seemed a little too karaoke for me. Kelly hit first, then Blake (he though Kelly was going to block him), and John turned last. John says while he may be the unorthodox choice, she sounded fantastic. Kelly said go ahead, Mayor of country town here you go. Blake said he loves the "whiney and nasally" voice that singers from Georgia have. John Legend said she was so precise.
Rebecca chose Kelly

Kendra Checketts sang Sober by Demi Lovato-- She needs some polishing but there is so much potential. I thought her song choice was a little bit odd being that is such a personal song. Blake turned right away. Kelly didn't turn because she wanted her to break down that last barrier so that we could hear the ache in her voice. Blake said I am excited about coaching some people. I am so glad you're here.
Blake chose Kendra

J.T. Rodriguez sang Higher Love by Steve Winwood-- He is pretty pitchy, and that's a tough song to sing, probably a bit too challenging for him. The coaches regretted not turning. Luckily, J.T. was chosen for the comeback stage.

L.B. Crew sang Waves by Mr. Probz-- L.B. has an amazing voice. I loved his interpretation of this song. He is so cool and so soulful, his runs, the way he phrases things; I just love the musical choices he made. Blake and Kelly turned almost simultaneously, and then John, and then Adam. Well deserved 4 chair turn! Adam said I am just gonna say one thing and move on. He thinks L.B.'s falsetto can be stronger. Kelly was like nope, he was sexy, I am gonna take my earrings off Adam. Kelly said I was the first person to turn around. I could tell he's got range, tone, and depth. I cannot wait for you to pick me. John said congratulations! Blake said have you ever heard of Toad Suck National Park. Adam said this has got to the worst pitch of your life. I like the tortured intent of your falsetto. Let's break the mold, there's no one like you on my team, let's do it! Adam added at the end, I just want to help you improve.
L.B. chose Adam and said he chose Adam because he appreciated his honesty.

Top performances of the night-- L.B. Crew killed it! I think Blake picked up two amazing artists in Dalton and Kendra

The Voice Season 16: Starving for The Blinds

Jacob Maxwell sang Delicate by Taylor Swift-- John and Kelly turned fairly quickly. Interesting rendition of the song, his tone was different. I personally wasn't that big a fan. I think I would like to hear him sing something else. Jacob felt his voice was heavenly and like Jeff Buckley and James Morrison. John said he looked like Leo DiCaprio and he said I get Harry from 1D more often. Kelly has a theory that guys don't pick her.
Jacob chose John.... Is Kelly right?

Karley Moreno sang Starving by Hailee Steinfeld-- She has a pleasant tone. I liked her vibe. She looks the part of a star. I want to hear her sing other songs but this is exciting. Adam was the only that turned. He said she sounded like a Regina Spektor; what she is going to do going forward will be underestimated. He loved her vulnerability. The other coaches loved the purity in her voice.
Adam chose Karley

Luna Searles sang Nutbush City Limits by Tina Turner-- The coaches did not turn. They all told her to show more, the song may not have been right for her. She previously auditioned in Season 2.

Carter Lloyd Horne sang Drinkin' Problem-- Kelly and Blake agreed to both go at the last minute. Carter has an old school voice, I feel like people who are authentic country tend to go with Team Blake. Adam said that song was so inappropriate for your age, and Blake said if inappropriate is your thing and he pointed at himself. Kelly is waiting for a guy to choose her.
Carter chose Blake

Talon Cardon sang Say You Won't Let Go by James Arthur-- I am not liking this personally. It's a little too lethargic for me. John turned for him at the last minute. I could actually see John helping him quite a bit.
John chose Talon

Patrick McAloon sang Runaway Train by Soul Asylum-- There is so much character in his voice. John said you sounded incredible. Adam thought he would be a perfect fit for team Adam. He said that song choice spoke to him. He loves his grit and high range.  Blake said I love Soul Asylum it's one of my favorite bands. We would look good together. I love Patrick, I would be honored to have you on my team.
Patrick chose Adam

Ruby McAloon sang Back to You by Selena Gomez-- No one turned!

Alena D'Amico sang In My Blood by Shawn Mendes-- I can't figure out if she is a pop artist, country artist or maybe both, like a Taylor Swift. I liked the versatility of her voice. Kelly and Blake turned.
Adam told Alena to pick Kelly. Blake said there is no one like you on my team. Alena said her mom loves Blake, and Blake said where's your mom. Kelly said reign it in a tiny bit in certain areas, I loved your song selection. I would love to be your coach.
Alena chose Kelly

Kanard Thomas sang Riding with the King by BB King and Eric Clapton-- No one turned. He had some pitch issues. Blake said I think you're a good singer. I just wanted some aggression. Kanard was chosen for the Comeback Stage!

Dexter Roberts sang Like a Cowboy by Randy Houser-- At one point John, Kelly, and Blake all turned at the same time. Adam turned at the very end. Dexter is so good! He has such a strong voice. He reminds me a little bit of Garth Brooks in terms of voice. John said your voice is so rich. Adam said what you do is so astounding. I turned out of respect, but I don't want you to pick me. Don't pick me, because it would be too bold, too daring, and we would go too far. John said Blake is here to limit you and we are here to expand your horizons. Kelly said males never pick me on this show. Blake said who sings that song? And Adam said that is crap because if someone sings something you don't know Blake you said I don't know that song but I am just a fan of you, and he does an impersonation of Blake. Blake said I just happen to know what I love.
Dexter chose Blake

Jej Vinson sang Passionfruit by Drake -- Kelly turned early and then Blake followed by John and Adam. Wow! His voice was so special. He can sing low beautifully and high with so much strength. That was amazing. Adam said you're a better singer than all of us. John said it is like you picked the note you wanted and pulled it out of the air. He said I am glad you got 4 chairs, you deserved it. Blake said everyone is nervous talking to you right now. You might be the winner of the Voice.  Kelly said I can win this show with you, you're incredible!
Jej chose Kelly! 4 Chair Turn!

Top 3 tonight--- Jej, Dexter, and Patrick. I also loved Karley, something special about her.

The Best Dressed @ The Oscars 2019 Edition

Regina King not only won Best Supporting Actress, but she looked unbelievable in a white Oscar de la Renta gown with a slit up the leg. The jewelry was simple and she looked angelic.

Brie Larson, Oscar winner in 2016 for Best Actress in Room and upcoming star of Captain Marvel was statuesque in high necked silver Celine gown with a slit.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have become one of the couples to watch at award shows. At the Oscar's J. Lo looked stunning in a long sleeved, high necked, silver Tom Ford dress with a slit. Metallics were popular at the Award's show this year. J. Lo always makes great fashion choices and this year was no exception.

It was a big night for Lady Gaga who was up for Best Actress and Best Song, the latter of which she won. I have really enjoyed watching her style evolve over the past few years. She definitely turned heads at this year's Oscar Show opting for a solid black Alexander McQueen gown complete with long gloves and Tiffany jewels. She really looked like a princess.

Amy Adams' Oscar dress was a gorgeous pastel and gold Versace bustier gown. The dress was simple and sexy without being overt. She never fails to make strong fashion choices for herself, she always looks well put together. Amy accessorized with Cartier jewels.
