When OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder wrote "Halo" for Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson is beginning to think he was also thinking about her new released single "Already Gone". Tedder co-penned both tunes; Halo was released as Beyonce's fourth single from her album, "I Am.... Sasha Fierce". It was written by Tedder, Evan Bogart, and Knowles, and was released on January 20, 09. "Halo" was originally offered to Leona Lewis but her schedule was too full at the time so the track went to Beyonce; at the time, Tedder was also working on a similar track for Kelly Clarkson called "Already Gone".
"Already Gone" is the third single off Clarkson's album "All I Ever Wanted" which most critics say marks her return to mainstream pop and her best album since 2004's "Breakaway". Clarkson is now accusing Tedder of giving her the same musical arrangement that "Halo" has for her song "Already Gone".
Lyrically the songs are very different but both are called power ballads. "Halo" is about that person in your relationship that you just cannot imagine life without, your angel, and "Already Gone" is about the end of a relationship.
