Team Legend: BD:ii sang Back at One by Brian McKnight vs. Kolby Cordell sang Lately by Stevie Wonder-- I love Kolby but I don't think this song helped his case, he was way too pitchy. BD, although not as good as he normally is, beat Kolby in my opinion. I don't think he had the right song either, Back at One didn't fit him. John liked Kolby's soulful, raspy voice (similar to his), and had concerns about BD's song choice but felt it turned out well. John chose BD and Michael and Adam attempted a steal for Kolby. Kolby chose Adam.
Team Adam: Grace Miller Moody sang Dreams by Fleetwood Mac vs. Lucia Flores Wiseman sang Slow it Down by Benson Boone-- Okay, so unpopular opinion probably, but I liked Grace better than Lucia. I found her performance more relatable. Lucia displays great artistry but I don't hear her words as well. I agree with the comparisons to Amy Winehouse. Of course, Adam chose Lucia.
Team Kelsea: Tinika Wyatt sang Best of my Love by The Emotions vs. Dan Kiernan sang Impossible by Shontelle-- Tinika was a given, but Dan was a surprise. I found myself moved by his performance of Impossible. This one was a too close to call for me. Kelsea said she feels a connection to Dan but that as a coach, Tinika is a joy. Kelsea chose Tinika.
Team Buble: Barry Jean Fontenot sang Haven't Met You Yet by Michael Buble vs. Simone Marijic sang She Used to Be Mine by Sara Bareilles-- I have to go with Barry here, I think he is an unrealized talent. When he finally does realize it, look out. Simone is great as well, but I don't think this was the greatest song choice for her, and so.... Michael chose Barry Jean.
Team Adam: Ethan Eckenroad sang I Won't Back Down by Tom Petty vs. Trevon Dawson sang Red Dirt Road by Brooks and Dunn-- I enjoy both of these artists but I didn't think the song choice highlighted Ethan's voice in the way it needed to be. Trevon, I feel like, is probably the best country artist in the competition this year. Unfortunately though, justice won't be done to see him perform again. Adam picked Ethan and Trevon was sent packing.
Team Kelsea: Iris Herrera sang Jolene vs. Angie Rey sang Dirt Cheap by Cody Johnson-- I love Iris's tone, she's incredible, a little diamond in the rough. Oh wow, I love how rich Angie's voice is. John found Iris compelling and Angie centered and spiritual. Adam said Angie has experienced the most growth, they all wanted Iris from the beginning. Kelsea chose Iris and Michael stole Angie. This was the perfect solution.
