The Voice Season 29: What Were These Finals Made For?

Team Adam: Alexia Jayy sang Lady Marmalade by Patti LaBelle-- Alexia is one of my favorites of the season and this performance is among my favorite of hers. I think it's an easy song to oversing and sshe didn't do that. Kelly said I have heard that song so many times before but not the way you sing it. John said you sing like a star. Adam said the headline through all these moments and performances was you. There's no one like you.  

Team Kelly: Mikenley Brown sang Almost is Never Enough by Ariana Grande-- Her vocal was amazing on this song. Wow! I have been up and down with her, but I am a fan of this performance. Adam said I am a fan of yours-- I love your voice, I love your tone, I love you. Kelly said what she does is so special. 

Team Legend: Lucas West sang Cold As Ice by Foreigner-- He always picks the best songs for himself. This was no exception. Adam said I love you and I am a fan of you. Kelly also loved it. John said your voice sounded more powerful and more clear, beautifully done. 

Team Kelly: Liv Ciara sang The Greatest by Billie Eilish-- Gorgeous performance; Liv is so mature beyond her years, vocally, just so poised. She performs like she came to win the competition. John said, she's 16, you took us through the emotions of this song so beautifully, it was so raw and honest. Kelly said we were not here at 16, and Adam said, I was a pimple. 

Team Kelly: Mikenley Brown sang Man I Need by Olivia Dean-- John said you're just singing everything in your style and I think that's so cool. Adam said she is solidifying her status after the show. 

Team Legend: Lucas West sang Ordinary People by John Legend-- Love him singing this, and he did justice to the musicality, piano, and vocals. Wow! Gorgeous! Adam said not only am I happy, you did it unreal, that is the purity of you. Kelly said you went from Foreigner to John Legend, so good! John said you said your mom used to play these songs for you, and I felt something with that performance today. 

Team Kelly: Liv Ciara sang What a Girl Wants by Christina Aguilera-- I love how she changed up the song. It sounds amazing and like a new song in a way. Amazing vocals and strong identity. John said I am so excited for where you're going to go. Adam said you changed it up and that was amazing. Kelly said she is ready to be a popstar. 

Team Adam: Alexia Jayy sang One and Only by Adele-- Technically the best singer in this competition; Alexia just sounded amazing. Kelly said you are so good, you're like a vessel, that was so good. That was like a therapudic release that I needed. I love Adele bu damn, promise me you'll never cover my songs. John said you are a blessing. Adam said you make people reflect and feel more together and communal; thanks for being a messenger.

The Voice Season 28: The Playoffs Open with Teams Michael and Reba

Team Reba: Aaron Nichols sang Beer Never Broke My Heart by Luke Combs-- I could see him on the stage and hear him on the radio right now. This song was so perfect for him. 

Team Michael: Jazz McKenzie sang Don't Stop Believing by Journey-- The coaches were all loving this and I was not a fan. She sounded off in my opinion. Voice did not come through as well as I think they thought it did. I'd send her packing. 

Team Reba: Ryan Mitchell sang Undressed by Sombr-- I dig that he chose Sombr but I think he should have done Back to Friends. He has the store power to move forward but I don't think Reba will choose him outright. He could get voted through by the public. Reba loved what he brought and said she is so proud of him. 

Team Michael: Trinity sang Barracuda by Heart-- Love how she is always bringing a different side or piece of herself. This was risky-- I hope it pays off for her in the best way cause I am a big fan. She has an amazing voice, the last 30 seconds was, wow! Snoop said she just moved up in my book. 

Team Reba: Aubrey Nicole sang Black Velvet by Alannah Myles-- Aubrey has grown in each round. She's a start in my opinion. I loved the sultriness and smokiness in her voice; it reminded me a little bit of Leann Rimes. Reba said, wow! Niall said no doubt you deserve a place in the finale; you showed us another side of you that we haven't seen before. There's something special about you. Reba called her the perfect package. 

Team Michael: Rob Cole sang I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack-- Loved how Rob made the song his own because it's so well known. Reba said he touched her and he took a sweet song and made it better. Snoop said I'm sweet on you, you have superstar potential. 

Team Reba: Peyton Kyle sang Hold Back the River by James Bay-- I loved his confidence and how as he sang he walked up the stage closer. What a phenomenal vocal. Snoop said the way you took your time and worked it. I'd listen to your music. Reba said you give a lot in rehearsals, but you give even more when you get on the stage. 

Team Michael: Max Chambers sang A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke-- I loved it and it was definitely an inspired performance. I wanted a little more. I think I wanted to hear more passion when he says the "back down to my knees". Snoop said, that's the winner of The Voice. 

Michael chose Jazz, she's probably the only person on his team that I would not have picked. So I am really confused, but it was his choice. I would have chosen in order-- Trinity, Rob, Max, Jazz. 

Reba chose Aubrey, anyone she chose would have been a good choice. In order I would have picked Peyton, Aubrey or Aaron, and Ryan. 

The Voice Season 27 Finale: The Performance Show

Round 1: 

Team Legend: Renzo sang Fly by Lenny Kravitz-- I have been critical of Renzo throughout this but I have to say that he has proven to me that he deserves to be here. What a great song choice and I love how he started the song acoustically, it was more quiet for sure and really showed his voice quite well. Michael said there was not a lot to say and that the performance was flawless. John said the arrangement, which Renzo elected, showed his voice beautifully. 

Team Adam: Lucia Flores Wiseman sang Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd-- Wow that was beautiful. I loved the way she navigated that song. She's so original. Kelsea said you embody the love letter you wrote to music, you're supposed to be here. Adam said I feel so connected to you. You lead with heart and you lead with feeling. I'm so proud of you. 

Team Buble: Jadyn Cree sang Lose You to Love Me by Selena Gomez-- I liked this song choice for Jadyn, I brought out some of her innocence. Michael said he is so proud of her and happy for her, her voice is kind, empathetic, pure, and she is a pop star. 

Team Kelsea: Jaelen Johnston sang What Was I Thinkin' by Dierks Bentley-- Okay I will first say that had to be so tough to mess up on live TV, but he kept going. He stopped for a second and kept going. I think that was his most challenging performance, but I believe he will watch it back and be proud of himself. He persevered. Kelsea said you showed up and I am so proud of you, you locked back in, got back in your body quickly.  

Team Buble: Adam David sang You Are So Beautiful by Joe Cocker-- What a great performance, it showed the versatility in Adam's voice. John talked about that beautiful broken quality in Adam's voice and added-- you did a beautiful song much justice tonight. Michael said he is one of my favorite singers, he's a blue collar singer, he's worked his butt off, he plays in bars.   

Round 2: 

Team Adam: Lucia Flores Wiseman sang Wildflower by Billie Eilish-- I feel like her performances are so poetic and prolific. Adam said that was so amazing, Lucia is not the typical type of Voice winner which is exactly why she should win. 

Team Buble: Adam David sang Hard Fought Hallelujah by Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll-- This is such a gorgeous song and any time any one sings it I have heard so much heart and sincerity behind it and this was so exception. Michael said I am shaken, 100/100, we are blessed to be given music like this. 

Team Buble: Jadyn Cree sang Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners-- This was one of the most creative performances I have seen on the show. The song is also pretty iconic. It's like she took us back to a moment in history and froze it. Michael said you're a pop star, I love you, you lead with light. 

Team Legend: Renzo sang Lover You Should Have Come Over by Jeff Buckley--Wow, what an exquisite vocal. He just knows how to bring you into his world with his performances. John said he showed something new in his voice today. You are a superstar and I am so happy I got this chance to work with you.  

Team Kelsea: Jaelen Johnston sang Cold by Chris Stapleton-- I loved this song for him. He seemed like he was totally immersed in the performance. It was honestly such a great way for us to hear that natural rasp that he has in his voice. Kelsea said I am out of breath and I am sweating. She said, Jaelen picked this song, and she was nervous, but when he sang it in rehearsal she knew it was the right song for him. 

The Voice Season 27: It's Getting Harder to Breathe with these Knockouts...

Team Buble: Divighn sang Harder to Breathe by Maroon 5 vs. Kaiya Hamilton sang Here by Aleesia Cara-- These two are well matched and both should move forward. I am fan of Harder to Breathe, but I have to say, hearing Divighn singing it, I felt like I was hearing it for the first time. I loved the sharpness of his words and the performance as a whole. He worked the stage as well which is difficult to do while keeping up the vocal. Kaiya took on this song so well, this is a tough one, and she navigated it with ease and sounded amazing. She's probably one of the most technically gifted singers in this competition. Adam recognized his song and loved what Divighn did with it. He said Kaiya sang her butt off. Kelsea said Kaiya ebbed and flowed with the song, and it sounded different to her than the original which she said was Kaiya's artistry coming through. She said Songs About Jane is one of her fave albums and complimented Divighn on his performance.  Michael chose Kaiya.. thinking about it, this was the best choice to move forward. 

Team Legend: Bryson Battle sang Ain't No Way by Aretha Franklin vs. Tatum Scott sang Stick Season by Noah Kahn-- I am in awe of Bryson's technical abilities as a vocalist. He is just stunning. I loved how he seamlessly kept moving from is falsetto to his full voice. I don't know many that do that as effortlessly. Tatum, as Kelsea noted, gave what was her personal best performance of the competition, she was just up against a beast in Bryson, but she's clearly gifted as a vocalist. Adam said that what they were doing could not have been more different yet there was no clear cut winner. Kelsea said Bryson feels like one of the greats. Michael said he is thankful to be able to witness these amazing performances. John chose Bryson. 

Montaged Performance: 
Team Kelsea: Alanna Lynise sang I'll Never Love Again by Lady Gaga vs. Page McKenzie (we did not see her performance). Kelsea chose Alanna. 

Team Adam: Ari Camille sang Love Like This by Faith Evans vs. Britton Moore sang Free by Zac Brown Band-- Two cool and stylized performances. I like Ari, I've always liked that grit in her voice. It got away from her at times but she ended well. Britton was a revelation, he's grown a lot and could be a front runner based on that performance. Kelsea said Britton your voice is like self auto tuned, and Ari your energy, you came to life. Michael said you're both only 21 years old. Britton, you have youthful beauty and a gorgeous tone. Britton won that. John said Ari, that was your best performance, and Britton, that was pitch perfect. You both earned the right to not leave the competition. Adam said you both did what needed to be done. Adam chose Britton and John stole Ari (she returned to Team Legend). 

The Voice Season 24: The Finale Takes Me Higher

Team Reba: Jacquie Roar sang More Than a Feeling by Boston-- This really showed the range in her voice and the fact that she is a total rocker. Gwen said Jacquie keeps getting better and better. I loved this song for her, very different but then when she started singing, so in her style. 

Team Legend: Lila Forde sang The Weight by Bob Dylan-- Didn't love this performance to be honest. Gwen complimented her confidence. John said he loves her individuality and musicality. 

Team Niall: Mara Justine sang Turning Tables by Adele-- This is one of my fave Adele songs. I loved how soulful she made this but she also made it her own. John said it was so striking and so beautiful, we saw a different side of your voice today. Niall said Mara I am so proud of you, the growth you have shown is insane. I hope they don't forget this moment because it was so big, you're an incredible singer and an incredible person. 

Team Niall: Huntley sang Another Love by Tom Odell-- Didn't love this one either. Gwen said I like how you're so effortless and you feel like you come from a different time. 

Team Reba: Ruby Leigh sang Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley-- One of the better performances of the night. Ruby does have such a maturity for her age, it's hard to believe. This was a good song choice for her.  John said you are so remarkable, your voice has so much maturity. Reba said you have amazed me from the first time you got on the stage. 

Team Reba: Jacquie Roar sang Knights in White Satin by The Moody Blues-- LOVE! Wow! What an amazing song choice. She killed this as well. Gwen said you must run on a tread mill all day to get that right in terms of the breath. That was beautiful. Reba said you are a force of nature, that was so pretty, it was a wonderful performance. 

Team Legend: Lila Forde sang Across the Universe by The Beatles-- I thought this was a beautiful choice for her. Much better than her first round. Niall said you're so impressive and so true to yourself. John called her performance cinematic. 

Team Niall: Mara Justine sang Piece of my Heart by Janis Joplin-- I feel like this song is overdone sometimes. I preferred her first performance here. This was good, she didn't sing bad per say, it just wasn't my taste. The coaches thought this was better than her first performance, I disagree. 

Team Reba: Ruby Leigh sang Desperado by The Eagles-- Smart song choice, she sounded stunning but didn't overdo it. Wow! Gwen said you just channel so well the intention of the song. Reba said what a great song selection, not many people can do what you do, 

Team Niall: Huntley sang Higher by Creed-- Great song choice for him! I thought once again his voice was a little lost in the arrangement but this is such a big song. John said I feel like when I watch you, I am watching someone who is already playing arenas. I am so shocked when you say you can't believe you're here doing this. Niall said that was euphoric.

The Voice Season 23: My My My The Finale

Team Blake: Grace West sang The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia by Reba McEntire-- Blake thought it was incredible. I think she is a great singer but I would have chosen something a little more uptempo, I also did not feel that did anything to showcase her vocals. She played it too safe. 

Team Kelly: D Smooth sang My My My by Johnny Gill-- Loved this performance, this is what I imagine him singing, this is totally his vibe every day. I did not want the performance to end. The coaches are on their feet. Chance said that was one of my fave performances this season. Kelly said you are already a star, you performed like this was your audience. I agree, he has such star quality. 

Team Chance: Sorelle sang A Million Reasons by Lady Gaga-- This has been their best performance to date. What a great arrangement and I loved how they built the dynamics throughout the song. Niall said girl that was so beautiful, it was nice to see you all stripped back like that. Chance said I am incredibly proud of you guys and your harmonies were so tight, it was nice to hear you all individually. 

Team Blake: Noivas sang Cold by Chris Stapleton-- I thought it started out a little rough but I thought by the end that he completely brought it. All the emotion and all the feeling was there. Kelly said what a smart song choice for you, it was a little country and a little bit of rock and roll. Blake said your personality and the way you make people feel is country, you killed it dude, congratulations. 

Team Niall: Gina Miles sang Style by Taylor Swift-- I liked this conceptually, it was really cool. I thought there were some hiccups but overall great performance. Chance thought it was an amazing performance, you have a distinct tone in your voice, and you are your own artist. Niall said you are a superstar. This was the perfect song for you, and I can't wait to see what kind of album you make. 

Team Blake: Grace West sang She's Got You by Patsy Cline-- I can tell Blake is really excited about this performance. She has a great voice, I like that she modernized this a little bit because Patsy Cline can come off as very old fashioned. Niall said Grace you saved your best two performances for tonight. He said the jump from the top of your range to the bottom was impressive. Blake said everyone sounds really good, that was unbelievable Grace. 

Team Blake: Noivas sang Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz-- It was certainly an uptempo performance. I felt like vocally he lost control at times but it was such a strong and powerful performance that I almost feel like you can excuse that. Chance said I knew you were gonna turn up,  and you deserve to win the show. Blake said we finally started this finally, you killed it, congratulations. 

Team Kelly: D Smooth sang What You Won't Do For Love by Bobby Caldwell-- D Smooth has put together these two awesome performances. I loved this song for him. I really hope we see him in music going forward.  Kelly loved his dynamics, you are so smooth man. You are so creative, you're a producer, a writer, all these things. 

Team Chance: Sorelle sang Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell-- Wow, that was an amazing performance. It just made me smile and it made me feel everything. Blake said you guys sound like a record when you get up here. He said to have all three of you singing in the pocket like that is a phenomenon. Chance said choreography on point, voices on point, it was pitch perfect, Blake is so salty right now.  

Team Niall: Gina Miles sang Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O'Connor-- That was a stunning performance, she really is putting up a fight. She could be the dark horse in this. Niall said that was absolutely incredible. I won't be forgetting that one any time soon.

The Voice Season 18: The Finale is Here!

Team Legend: CammWess sang Purple Rain by Prince-- Tough song choice, I loved this for him though. It was certainly ambitious and he's been so talented throughout the entire competition. The only thing I did not love is when he reached for the high note. It seemed a little off key. Kelly talked about him continuing to be confident in himself and how gifted he is. I completely agree. Nick said I am a huge Prince fan and I think you did that song justice.



Team Blake: Todd Tilghman sang I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me-- This was probably the single most inspiring performance of the entire season. I felt how committed Todd was to the song and how much he believed the lyrics. Wow, that was a tears coming down my face performance. Kelly said I was crying, you are so moving, you have a bigger belief inside of you. She is still crying, and she says I want to come to your church, you're special. Blake said you have a connection with people, and you sing with so much passion and precision. People believe you.



Team Kelly: Micah Iverson sang Butterflies by Micah Iverson-- I thought that this was better than I thought it would be; however, I didn't like the ending. It seemed abrupt. Micah is a little bit of a dark horse in this so it will be interesting to see how this turns out. Micah and Kelly agreed that this song describes who he wants to be as an artist.



Team Nick: Thunderstorm Artis sang Sedona by Thunderstorm Artis-- His voice still sounded great but the song was just good. John commented on his tone, and Nick said he is a true artist.



Team Blake: Toneisha Harris sang Faithfully by Journey-- I am surprised that Toneisha is the only lady left in this! She is remarkable. Her tone is always rich and full. Kelly said you have tones in you like Chaka Khan. You intrigue me. Blake said you have turned the entire finale upside down and this was your best performance of the season.



Round Two

Todd Tilghman sang Long Way Home by Todd Tilghman-- The sound and the vibe of this song was so him. I loved the positive message and it sounded like something he would sing if recording his own album. Blake said you are such an incredible talent, I have been torn about original songs on the Voice, but you took this and breathed life into it.



CammWess sang Save it for Tomorrow by CammWess-- This song sounds a lot like John, and that makes sense as John has a writing credit on it. I think the song really showcased Camm's vocal strengths and abilities. John called the song instantly catchy.



Micah Iverson sang Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol-- Micah sounded good in this, one of his best performances in a while. He does have amazing range, almost like an Adam Levine in certain spaces of his voice. Kelly said she looks forward to working with him when this is over.



Toneisha Harris sang Superhero by Toneisha Harris-- Again, the song was okay, not great. Obviously Toneisha had a connection with the song as it was inspired by her son who was sick. Blake said we're supposed to be social distancing but she just touched millions of people with that performance.



Thunderstorm Artis sang What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong-- This song does get performed a lot, but I loved how Thunderstorm was still able to change it up and make it his own. Each note was so deliberate, and it just ended so beautifully. Nick said I am so grateful that you sang that song. I try to find ways to stay encouraged. Thank for bring that message with pure and emotional artistry.



Well friends, we made it to the end of the season. Who is going to win? Your guess is as good as mine. Thunderstorm has been a favorite since day one with a magical tone. Micah is a dark horse of sorts that has continued to come up big. Todd is insanely unique; there's something super authentic about him. Toneisha is a rock star, her voice is the biggest and most consistent. CammWess has this incredible range; he reminds me of so many other singers yet sounds like no one.

Who is your pick? I think I am going with Team Blake and saying Todd or Toneisha is going to win this.

The Voice Season 10: The Finale is Now!

Team Adam: Laith Al Saadi sang White Room by Cream-- What a way to go out in this competition. Laith has stayed true to himself and his musical roots this entire time, and that performance was no different. The guitar solo was sick, his vocals, just as good as ever. Blake said you did this your way and you shoved your guitar up my...... Christina said I loved you tearing it up on the guitar. Pharrell said the vibe was amazing, who doesn't wanna play air guitar after you. You being here is a true testament to what the show represents. Adam said I am feeling so good, I have no agenda, you have such purity of spirit and heart. He is what is missing from this show.

Team Christina: Alisan Porter sang her original song Down That Road-- I'm not really loving Curly Sue's original song. Adam thought it was a great song. Blake loves the idea of them writing original songs. Christina said you are the epitome of the voice.

Team Blake: Adam Wakefield and his coach Blake Shelton sang The Conversation by Hank Williams Jr. -- I would give this a 5 out of 5

Team Pharrell: Hannah Huston sang Every Breath You Take by The Police-- For me, that was blase. I liked the arrangement that Pharrell put together, but the overall performance and vocal fell flat. Adam called her badass. Blake said it was risky but with great opportunity for reward. Pharrell thanked the band for what they did. Pharrell felt that Hannah came out with humility and grace.

Team Adam: Laith Al Saadi and his coach Adam Levine sang Golden Slumbers/ Carry That Weight by The Beatles-- Wow, that was amazing, I loved that, 5 out of 5 for sure!

Team Christina: Alisan Porter and her coach Christina Aguilera sang You've Got a Friend by Carole King-- I would give it a 4 out of 5

Team Blake: Adam Wakefield sang his original song Lonesome Broken and Blue-- I loved his original song! Pharrell said, that was your original? Congrats! Adam said that's a great song. Blake said I am so blown away, your song is so good. Blake said it reminded me so much of something Keith Whitley would have written.

Team Pharrell: Hannah Huston and her coach Pharrell sang Brand New by Justin Timberlake and Pharrell-- That was a fun performance, I would give it a 4.5 out of 5 just for personality

Team Adam: Laith Al Saadi sang his original song Morning Light-- Laith's original song is so good, it sounds like this is straight off his new album. Christina said once again you killed it on the guitar. Pharrell said what a great original, and everyone go buy that song now. Adam said everyone in this top 4 is so great, you have slowly over time become my favorite, you play music for the right reasons.

Team Blake: Adam Wakefield sang When I Call Your Name by Vince Gill-- Perfect way for Adam to win the night, I feel like with certain people out of the competition now, he may very well win this whole thing. Adam said he makes such good decisions, he loves how he puts together a song. Blake said you just blew the roof off this place, I cannot wait to see the iTunes charts.

Team Pharrell: Hannah Huston sang her original song I Call the Shots-- I actually think I liked this more than any other original song tonight. Adam said it was so cool to see Pharrell do his thing and what you did was one of the coolest moments on the show ever. Pharrell said Hannah can still be humble and talented and he is honored to be part of the process.

Team Christina: Alisan Porter sang Somewhere-- I will definitely admit that Curly Sue finally stepped it up for me tonight in this performance. It was moving, not cheesy. I really liked it. Adam said congratulations and you know we love you. Christina said we started this journey together in the blinds and you made me cry then and you made me cry now.

The Top 8 Sing for a Spot in The Top 4 on The Voice Season 10

Team Adam: Shalyah Fearing sang And I Am Telling You from Dreamgirls-- Wow, she was on point tonight. I liked how she personalized the performance and didn't try to copy Jennifer Hudson or anyone else. All the coaches were on their feet and rightfully so, she was so strong and she just killed it. Christina said she was singing for her life, she was fearless. Christina talked about how difficult that song is to sing, and she brought it. Pharrell said she delivered throughout the song. Adam said he is always impressed by her and overjoyed. Adam said despite her age, she definitely deserves to be in the finale.

Team Blake: Paxton Ingram sang I Would Do Anything for Love by Meatloaf-- I actually really liked it, and like Christina, I would not have expected Meatloaf from him, but it sounded really good. Christina said he pulled off the performance. Pharrell said he would also be great on Broadway. Blake said I don't know anyone who works harder than Paxton. I've been doing this for 10 years and I couldn't be prouder.

Team Adam: Laith Al-Saadi sang One and Only by Adele-- Another unexpected song choice, and Laith pulled this off too. His vocal was beautiful, and it seemed like he connected to the song. Blake said that was amazing, beautiful singing, the guitar solo worked. Pharrell said another great installment. Adam said I would be most proud if you were to make it through. You represent something so near and dear to my heart, and you always stay true to you. It would be an honor to have you get to the end.

Team Christina: Alisan Porter sang Desperado by The Eagles-- I liked Alisan's performance very much, it was heartfelt and genuine. I would have liked to hear a little bit more range, bot overall, another solid performance. I do question whether or not this will propel her to the top four. Adam said, you can do everything. Blake said you reminded me why that is one of my favorite songs. Christina told her she delivered that song beautifully and effortlessly.

Hannah and Laith duet

Team Blake: Adam Wakefield sang I'm Sorry by Blake Shelton-- Adam is someone who has continued to be impressive throughout this entire competition. I don't think he has had one misstep. He is someone who, without a doubt, deserves to be in this finale. I think I am punching a ticket for him. I would be extremely surprised if he did not make it. Blake said you have had so many break out moments on this show.

Team Christina: Bryan Bautista sang Hurt by Christina Aguilera-- Three out of the four coaches on their feet for Bryan. That was a touching performance, and Christina touched on it, but it literally takes so much to get through that song emotionally. I really applaud his fearlessness. Adam said you always have impressed me, it takes a lot of courage to talk about what you're going through and then to sing about it. Christina said every time you perform you show us a different element of yourself. You made it your own and I wanna hear it again, I am buying it on iTunes.

Shalyah and Paxton

Team Blake: Mary Sarah sang I Told You So by Randy Travis and Carrie Underwood-- What I love about Mary Sarah is that week after week, she stays true to who she is. Her voice is special, there's nothing ordinary about what she does. Christina said you have grown a lot on this show, and you own who you are, that was beautiful. Blake said what Mary Sarah did is solid pure country music. That was your best performance.

Team Pharrell: Hannah Huston sang When a Man Loves a Woman by Percy Sledge-- Adam said Hannah has been so consistent that at times they take her for granted. Blake said somehow he agreed with Adam, you have not had a performance like that this entire season, that may be your ticket to the finale. Pharrell said, Adam is right, it's been a slow build. The thing is, now you feel like you deserve to be here. Like everyone else, I agree with Adam too. Hannah has been this constant gift this season, and yet somehow, I feel like I haven't appreciated her enough. She has slid under the radar, and she too is someone who may have a place in the finale.

The Voice Season 8: Finale

Team Pharrell: Koryn Hawthorne sang It's a Man's Man's World by James World-- Love her rendition of this song. Her interpretation and everything she added just really made the performance take off. The vocal was strong, and I don't think she made one false step, she came to play. Adam said we're unbelievably proud of you. Blake said you did it sis, that performance is why you deserve to be in this finale, your best performance yet. Pharrell said this is for you, you were born for this.

Team Blake: Meghan Linsey sang Change My Mind (original song) by Meghan Linsey-- Adam said he was happy Meghan did this, it's cool to do this. Adam loved the song. Blake said, the hook of the song is so powerful, "you want me to change, I'll change my mind". I agree with Adam, super cool that she was able to do this, and I liked the song.

Pharrell and Sawyer sang Summer Breeze by Seals and Croft--

Team Adam: Joshua Davis sang Working Man's Hymm (original song) by Joshua Davis-- Blake said you're a great songwriter, the song is stuck in my head, that's a good sign. I loved the song too, I thought it was awesome, and it told me more about who Joshua is. Adam said the song was really good, and it made me happy.

Team Pharrell: Sawyer Fredericks sang Please by Ray LaMontagne-- Pharrell said shout out to Ray LaMontagne for giving Sawyer that song and believing in him. To me, it seemed like this song was for Sawyer. He seemed so connected that I could have sworn that it was written for him.

Pharrell and Koryn sang We Will Work it Out by The Beatles--

Team Adam: Joshua Davis sang Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen-- This was Joshua's most inspiring performance yet. It happened at the perfect time. He has a shot at this. Christina found the performance heartwarming and engaging. Adam felt that he did what he had to do with that performance.

Blake and Meghan sang Freeway of Love by Aretha Franklin--

Team Pharrell: Koryn Hawthorne sang Bright Fire (original song) by Pharrell-- Adam loved how passionately she delivered the vocal. I could totally tell that she loved that song. Christina said you couldn't have arrived at this moment without Pharrell as your coach. I credit both Koryn and Pharrell for arriving at this moment. She has so much poise, and he clearly is so humble and committed. This was a beautiful song and it was beautifully performed.

Team Blake: Meghan Linsey sang When a Man Loves a Woman by Percy Sledge-- Pharrell said, you are living the dream. You have completely rewritten your future, singing what you wanna sing, and sharing it. Adam said I figured out that my favorite thing about your voice, you have this extra thing with your voice that's really special. Blake called it the performance of the night. It was a great performance; this is anyone's competition to lose but I will say, Sawyer is making it difficult.

Team Pharrell: Sawyer Fredericks sang Old Man by Neil Young--  This performance is the first one tonight that is truly captivating. I love it. Adam said don't ever lose sight of the purity and sanctity of who you are, you're the real deal. Christina said I am shocked you picked Pharrell and he picked every song and move so perfectly. You're a gem and I am so happy for you. Pharrell said I am so happy I am anywhere near your dream.

The Voice Season 8: The Top 5

Coach's Choice

Team  Adam: Joshua Davis sang I Can't Make You Love Me by Bonnie Raitt-- I thought the vocal was soothing but almost a little bit too much so. Christina said she liked it and it reminded her of when he first started the show. Pharrell liked that it was his own rendition of the song. Adam said our challenge has been to highlight what you do the best. I'm proud of you, you did an incredible job.

Team Pharrell: Koryn Hawthorne sang One by U2-- Koryn's performance was inspiring, I liked that she took the vocal and didn't try to copy U2, she just did her own thing with it. Christina feels like Koryn has grown so much. Pharrell said he has learned more from Koryn than she has from him. You're the true definition of an inspirational singer.

Team Blake: Meghan Linsey sang I'm Not the Only One by Sam Smith-- Go Meghan! You made a current hit your own, very difficult to do. I love her strength. Pharrell liked that Meghan showed that many genres of music live in Nashville. Adam said every performance is like your last, you're committed to the moment, and you did great.

Team Christina: India Carney sang Gravity by Sara Bareilles-- India came out to fight tonight. She raised the bar with that performance. It was very moving, the emotion was at a fever pitch. Adam said you have the best coach cause you've both been given so much ability. I liked the way the song grew and you told a story. Blake said it was powerful. Christina said you continue to amaze me; you're smart enough to have control.

Team Pharrell: Sawyer Fredericks sang For What Its Worth by Buffalo Springfield-- This is probably my favorite Sawyer performance, and I think it came at the right time. Adam said the song was strangely current and rooted in something heavy. He made it current. Blake said great job, and Adam said Blake is boring. Pharrell said it's your time.

Team Adam: Joshua Davis sang When I Paint My Masterpiece by The Band-- Adam thought that the performance turned out better than he expected. Blake was unfamiliar with the song, I was too.

Team Pharrell: Koryn Hawthorne sang Oh Mary Don't You Weep-- I was extremely moved by her performance. So powerful and she is so strong. Adam said from where you started to where you are now, I cannot even believe the difference. Christina said I am so scared of you, to deliver in the way you did, I am such a fan. Pharrell said dreams can come true, anything is possible when you put God first; that performance showed that.

Team Blake: Meghan Linsey sang Tennessee Whiskey by George Jones-- Christina said that was awesome, you always amaze me with your vocals. You can do it all. Pharrell said you continue to give people a taste of who you are. Blake said that was so special, you engaged all the country music fans, and all your new fans on the show.

Team Christina: India Carney sang Earth Song by Michael Jackson-- All the coaches are on their feet, and rightfully so, this performance just completely blew me away. It's what I've been waiting for, it brought tears to my eyes. Pharrell said it looked, sounded, and felt beautiful. Adam said every performance of yours is so awesome because it seems like performance art, it's like little storybooks unfolding. Christina said tonight you did a phenomenal job.

Team Pharrell: Sawyer Fredericks sang A Thousand Years by Christina Peri--  Blake said you're clearly the front runner. You're the real deal buddy, congratulations. Pharrell said you have so  much generosity every time you sing. It was a surprise to hear Sawyer sing this, and it was also touching, I enjoyed the gentle nature of this performance.

Meghan and Sawyer are moving on..... Koryn or India will get the last spot, and Joshua will finish in fifth place.

The Voice Season 8: And Then There Were 6

Team Christina: India's tribute to her mom was Glory by John Legend and Common-- Wow, what a powerful performance. I thought the way that she sang the parts that Common raps in the original was seamless. It literally sounded like she had cut that record herself. Pharrell said Kenny Babyface Edmonds should be writing her a song. Adam said the song choice was perfect for her, and he felt like she had a moment. Blake said he had never heard that song, and felt like she did such a great job with the song. Christina said she figured out the portions that Common rapped melodically so well.

Team Adam: Joshua Davis's sang Desire by U2--I didn't love this song choice on him. I understand what he was trying to do, but I don't think it worked. I hope his second performance was better. Pharrell said this was better than his best performance, and he thought he looked like he was having fun doing something different. Adam said he is most impressed by what Pharrell said, and you're the first person I have seen in a while get up there and be comfortable and have fun.

Team Pharrell: Koryn Hawthorne's tribute to her mom was Everbody Hurts by R.E.M.-- It was a tiny bit pitchy in parts, but I think overall another powerful performance. At 17, she has grown probably more than anyone on this show, and I think she has a real shot at the finals. Blake said it's unbelievable how invested she is in every performance. Pharrell said he is humbled and she is truly anointed. You let the spirit in and you are truly the best.

Team Christina: Kimberly Nichole's tribute to her mom was Free Fallin' by Tom Petty-- Kimberly's joy which really spoke to me through this song literally brought tears to my eyes. I loved this tribute to her mom, her vocals were so original and strong, and I feel like she really felt the song, it's almost like she was living her life like the song. Adam said you did this song your way, and I feel like you can sing anything. Christina said you fill my heart with so much joy and I love you for that.

Team Blake: Meghan Linsey sang Steamroller Blues by James Taylor-- I love Meghan's sass in this song, she is just consistently so impressive. If she isn't the surest bet for the finals I don't know who is. She is the blues, and her vocals are incredible. Pharrell and Blake were on their feet. Christina said that was crazy, you just laid your heart and soul out on that stage. That was crazy. Pharrell said I loved and enjoyed that, you represent all those people being told no. Blake said I'm excited! You sang the crap out of that song. If that was a ketchup packet you stepped on it.

Team Pharrell: Sawyer Fredericks's tribute to his mom was Shine On by Daisy May Erlewine-- At times, Sawyer's performances have been underwhelming for me, but this was so special and so quietly strong and confident. It wasn't pretentious, it was so well done and executed perfectly. Adam said you're a really special kid Sawyer, every time you get up there, you're amazing. That was soulful, engaging, and emotional; it was one of the best of the night. Blake said you're just so good. Pharrell said you inspire so many people.

Team Christina: Kimberly Nichole sang Dirty Diana by Michael Jackson-- In the words of Cee Lo, oh wow! Her pipes were smoking on this performance! I had goosebumps. Pharrell said you just had a rock and roll moment, congrats Kim. Christina said you're incredible and you embody how to perform, you're a rock star up there.

Team Adam: Joshua Davis's tribute to his wife was In My Life by The Beatles-- Much better than his first performance. I loved this, the vocal was so pure and humble. Blake said this song does mean something to everybody, wow, I agree with that. Blake said I wish I could stand up there and do what you just did. Adam said you're a class act, that performance was mesmerizing, it was flawless.

Team Pharrell: Koryn Hawthorne sang Dream On by Aerosmith-- That was mighty! Another super powerful performance by Koryn, her vocals were in top form, and I feel like she knows her limits and pushes them to the max every time. Christina felt like she came out with so much intensity, great performance. Pharrell said that was an inspiring performance.

Team Christina: India Carney sang Lay Me Down by Sam Smith-- I loved this performance, I felt like even in the points where it sounded like there were pitch issues she worked it out, and was strong. The control that it took for her to handle that vocal was amazing. Adam said congratulations, that was your best performance ever on this show. You did something very different for you, it made you one of the front runners again. Christina said you stepped up and stepped out of your comfort zone.

Team Pharrell: Sawyer Fredericks sang Take Me to the River by Al Green-- Like Pharrell, I understand why he wanted to do this, the version that he did is right in line with his style and vocal range. Sawyer really hasn't made one glaring error in this competition, he is coasting. Blake said I never realized how still you stood until they put 100 dancers around you, but it doesn't matter, you still sound good, it doesn't freakin matter. Pharrell said you worked the stage.

Team Blake: Meghan Linsey's tribute to her mom was Amazing Grace-- How fearless for her to take on that first verse acapella. It shows and proves her skills as a singer. She is without question my favorite contestant this season. Her strength shone in his performance. Christina said, as always, that was gorgeous, very touching and very moving. Blake said I felt like the whole world stopped just to listen to that, so proud of you sis.

I have no idea who to eliminate..... everyone was phenomenal tonight.....

Season 8: The Voice The Top 8 Take the Stage

Team Blake: Hannah Kirby sang We Don't Need Another Hero by Tina Turner-- Cee Lo joined them for coaching. This was quite honestly her best vocal since she started the show. I am not the biggest Hannah fan, but she killed it tonight, well deserved standing ovation. I loved the kids choir running out at the end. Christina said it had Cee Lo's stamp all over it. Pharrell said she is living the dream. Adam said you're always amazing. Blake said she sang the song perfectly. 

Team Adam: Joshua Davis sang Fields of Gold by Sting-- Usher joined them for coaching. I liked this performance in general, but I felt like I wanted more, it was like he never hit an apex with that song. Blake said that is the type of performance where he shines. Adam said I love the fact that you went out there and did something very different, and you did it with class and elegance. 

Team Christina: Kimberly Nichole sang Creep by Radiohead-- Gwen joined them for coaching. I didn't love her interpretation of this song. To me, this song is about someone reflecting on their loneliness and the fact that they are different. Adam said there's never been a version like this, but I unlike Adam, I don't think it worked. 

Team Blake: Meghan Linsey sang Something by George Harrison-- Cee Lo joined them for coaching. I loved that performance by Meghan, she is the front runner for me.  Adam said he loves that the song was not Blake's choice; Meghan you're badass awesome. Blake said every week that goes by, you get better, and you have more confidence. I fully expect to see you in the finale, I totally agree with Blake. 

Team Christina: India Carney sang Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland-- Gwen joined them for coaching. I thought India's performance was so dreamlike and beautiful. She literally just floated through the song. Blake said that was more than beautiful and had magic in it. Christina said that India embraced the song and that she was taken on a journey with her. It was gorgeous. 

Team Pharrell: Sawyer Fredericks sang Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd-- Gwen joined them for coaching. Sawyer has such a mature voice, and he makes vocal choices that someone his age shouldn't even think to do, but he does it. . Adam said you have the ability to transform any song into something powerful, I think you're amazing. Pharrell said if you love folk music, vote and support him. 

Team Blake: Corey Kent White sang When I See You Smile by Bad English-- Cee Lo joined them for coaching. Corey's performance was so genuine and heartfelt, I loved that he worked to the end of the song to that big note. Adam said interesting song choice for you, but I loved it, the performance was awesome. Blake said you had a breakout moment, that was your best performance to date. 

Team Pharrell: Koryn Hawthorne sang Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys-- Gwen joined them for coaching. I feel like Koryn is the biggest surprise on this show, she has developed into a great performer. Adam said you have grown more than anyone else on this show, you've made the biggest leap. Christina said you have thrived under pressure. Pharrell said you're an inspirational singer. 

The Voice: Season 7, The Finals

Coach's Choice:

Team Adam: Damien sang A Song for You by Donny Hathaway-- There was a lot of heart in that performance. I don't know if it was his best performance but it was sincere. Blake said he hit everything full volume and full force; incredible and great. Pharrell said the way that you sang that song takes me to church, and I'm so proud of you. Gwen said that song was amazing and it feels like your record. Adam said you were so comfortable and this was one of your best performances.

Original Song:

Team Blake: Craig Wayne Boyd sang My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face-- I loved the authenticity of Craig's vocals and Blake is right, it seemed like the song found its way to him and was meant to be recorded by him. Pharrell congratulated him and said welcome to your future. Gwen said Craig is going to be touring for a long time. Blake said that song was meant for you.

Duets:

Team Adam: Chris and Adam sang Lost Without You by Robin Thicke-- One of the hottest performances I have ever witnessed, seen, heard on The Voice. Amazing choice, crazy vocals, sexy performance. I loved this, can I buy it? Please. The coaches are on their feet!

Original Song:

Team Adam: Matt McAndrew sang Wasted Love-- This seemed like a song that Matt would legit sing. It was his style, the message was clear, and it was a solid performance. Gwen thought it was a great song for him and it was really inspiring. Adam said that he and Matt have been working together 24/ 7 on that song, and he said you were amazing. You're so special, I'm so proud of you, I'm on the verge of tears, I love you.

Team Blake: Craig and Blake sang Boots On by Randy Houser-- That was such a country rock and roll forever performance.

Duets:

Team Adam: Damien and Adam sang Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me by Elton John and George Michael-- Adam's song choices are spot on tonight, this is another great choice. The vocals were solid, passionate, and original. The runs were awesome.

Original Song:

Team Adam: Chris Jamison sang Velvet-- I don't love this song, but I like the vibe of the song. The song, once again, was in the style of the artist. I am reminded of how American Idol has done a not good job with original songs. I could see Chris recording this. Pharrell said a star was born on this show, this year. You have changed and you have grown, I cannot wait to see what happens with you. Adam said I love all three of you so equally, and so much, you make me so proud.

Duets:

Team Adam: Matt and Adam sang Lost Stars by Adam Levine from the movie Begin Again-- Another amazing performance. I loved the sincerity and heart in this performance. It was very vulnerable and thought provoking. Adam and Matt's voices sounded good together.

Coach's Choice:

Team Blake: In Pictures by Alabama-- I agree with Blake, this was a great choice for Craig because it's so honest. Gwen said Blake's going to take you on tour. You're going to make an album, and it's going to be incredible. Pharrell said you picked the right song for him. Blake said this song is a perfect statement for where you are in your life.

Original Song:

Team Adam: Damien sang Solider-- This is an awesome original song for Damien. It truly fits him so well, and he dressed it up so well with his vocals. All the coaches were on their feet. Adam said I am bursting with pride. You have stayed strong and true to who you are.

Team Adam: Chris sang Cry Me a River by Justin Timberlake-- Wow, Justin Timberlake cleared this song for Chris to sing it. I've been wanting him to sing it since week one. He killed it, it was exciting, haunting, and he is my pick to win this. The coaches are all on their feet. Adam said, Chris my young Jedi, welcome and congratulations.

Coach's Choice:

Team Adam: Matt McAndrew sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland-- That performance was so majestic. What a great song choice and Matt's voice came through so pure on that. Gwen said she loves seeing him grow. Pharrell said you're so magical, you walk through walls and classifications. The world cannot get enough of artists like you. Adam said that was so bittersweet and perfect.

The Voice Season 7: The Knockouts Continue to Amaze

Team Gwen's Taylor John Williams singing Mad World by Tears for Fears versus Troy Ritchie singing Hey Ya by Outkast-- I absolutely loved Troy's performance, that was ridiculous, his vocals were right on. I liked how it started slow and then exploded into a party anthem. I agree with Blake that Troy won that. I think technically Taylor knows more who he is as an artist but that doesn't take away from the degree of difficulty that Troy put forth.  Adam said Troy you were amazing, funny, and cold; it was bold. Taylor, my mind was blown. Blake said, Troy you were so much fun and technically is was a harder song, I give it to you. Pharrell said that Troy showed character, and Taylor your performance was so hypnotic, the runs seemed like they were part of the song.
My opinion: Troy with a steal for Taylor
Winner: Taylor, so sad Troy didn't move on :-(

Team Adam's Alessandra Castronovo singing Next to Me by Emili Sande versus Mia Pffierrman singing Human by Christina Perry-- For me, Mia won this hands down. I felt like she was more connected with her song and she took all Taylor Swift's notes in rehearsal well. Blake liked Mia's song selection, and I was shocked Blake would go with Alessandra. Adam said he is proud of Alessandra, and Mia is more polished and comfortable and further along in knowing who she wants to be.

Team Pharrell's Elyjuh Rene singing With You by Chris Brown versus Ricky Manning singing Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus-- I loved Elyjuh's performance, his tone is just amazing. What he did with the song was give a masterclass in singing and tone. His signature was all over it with the scatting and flourishes that he added in throughout the performance. Ricky's performance was powerful, I wasn't expecting all that from him, pleasantly surprised. I want both to move on! Adam said a star is bring born about Ricky. Pharrell said because there is more work to be done, I am going with Elyjuh. Someone steal Ricky! Gwen stole Ricky and said, I feel like I might have just won The Voice.
My opinion: Both

The Voice Season Six: Down to the Final Five

As far as tomorrow, I am hearing there will be a bottom three and the save will still happen. So two contestants will immediately advance and one will be saved.

First up was Kristen Merlin singing Gunpowder and Lead by Miranda Lambert-- I think Kristen has a great voice but this was not the right song for her. It wasn't believable because as Blake mentioned she was smiling throughout the song and that's not the idea. She needed to be angry and have some attitude and this just lacked that.

Josh Kaufman sang All of Me by John Legend-- This was a perfect choice because it fit Josh's style so well. The really low notes were right on and the falsetto was beautiful. He must be in the top three. Adam says he is getting his weekly serving of humble pie yet again.

Kat Perkins sang Chandelier by Sia-- I love Sia as an artist but I found this performance was all over the place in terms of pitch. It sounded like she was trying to hit the right notes but didn't. Notice that none of the coaches came out and said that they liked it.

Jake Worthington sang Good Ole Boys by Waylon Jennings-- I loved this performance, I think it was actually Jake's best yet. It was fun and Blake is on his feet; this is a proud moment.

Christina Grimmie sang Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap-- Not my fave Christina Grimmie performance. I felt the same way Usher did, disconnected. I hope this performance isn't her downfall.

After round 1, I think Josh, Jake, and Christina should advance.

Now for round 2--

Josh Kaufman sang Love Runs Out by OneRepublic-- Was it the perfect song for him to sing? Probably not. Can he sell just about anything with a voice like that? Absolutely.

Kat Perkins sang Let it Go from the movie Frozen-- I thought this was preposterous when I heard she was singing Let it Go but it was a pretty solid performance. I'm not the biggest Kat fan but she was on point throughout this performance.

Kristen Merlin sang Foolish Games by Jewel-- I wish Kristen had done two songs like this because the first did not fit her well enough. This performance was a revelation to me because for the first time I saw Kristen the storyteller. It's that same person that Shakira has been talking about.

Christina Grimmie sang Some Night by f.u.n.-- Huge Christina Grimmie fan but this was a bit of a mess. The song wasn't to her style, and she struggled to connect with the song. You could tell that she was really making an effort but it was a bit too labored.

Jake Worthington sang Heaven by Byran Adams-- Quite honestly, the best performance of the night and a personal best for Jake. I loved this and I could tell he was connected to the song. Blake says he is so proud of Jake and would share the stage with him for the rest of his life. He also brings up the fact that Jake was having some throat problems and pushed through it and didn't mention it or use it as an excuse.

I was right about the top three. Tune in to the finale when Jake, Josh, and Christina square off!

Some thoughts on last night's finale:

Overall, this was a great show, especially if you were a fan of one of the final four. Each contestant sang a final song, a thank you song to their mentor, and a duet with their mentor.

Jermaine started the night by singing I Believe I Can Fly by R. Kelly for his final performance. This song was the perfect choice for him, and in my opinion, his best performance this season. Christina said he had so much heart, soul, and emotion; she thought the song was made for him. Cee Lo enjoyed the performance. Adam called it elegant and said Jermaine is an incredible singer. Blake said his heart was in his throat and felt it was the best version of that song he has ever heard.

Juliet Simms saluted Cee Lo by performing his song Crazy (from his Gnarls Barkley days).

Christina and Chris Mann sang a rousing rendition of The Prayer by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. This was one of "the" performances of the night. Both of them sang absolutely beautifully, and they connected so well with one another as artists.

Tony Lucca sang 99 Problems by Jay Z for his final performance. This performance showed yet another side of Tony Lucca. It showed grit and a new degree of commitment by Tony; I loved it. Christina, of course, commented on how the song was derogatory towards women. Cee Lo thought it was hard and he liked it. Adam said the song was not meant to be about women problems but about how life can be a "blank" sometimes. He said the song in this case was meant to be a metaphor.

Chris Mann sang a tribute to mentor Christina Aguilera by singing her hit, The Voice Within.

Juliet Simms and Cee Lo brought out their wild sides with Born to be Wild by Steppenwolf.

Tony Lucca and Adam took on the classic, Yesterday by The Beatles. I love the harmonies they brought out in one another in this song.

Jermaine Paul honored mentor Blake Shelton by performing his hit single, God Gave Me You; awww.... how appropriate.

Chris Mann sang You Raise Me Up for his final performance. If Chris could have picked any song to sing tonight, this was it. It was the right song at the right time, he's given himself the best shot possible at winning this competition. Cee Lo called Chris one of the most incomparable artists he has ever heard. Christina said he got here with true talent and voice alone.

Blake and Jermaine Paul became soul brothers when they took on the duet Soul Man by soul duo Sam & Dave.

Tony Lucca's tribute to his mentor Adam Levine was a performance of Maroon 5's first single Harder to Breathe.

Juliet Simms sang Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd for her final performance. With Juliet being the final female standing, I have a lot of respect for her. She deserves to be here, and she deserves a definite shot at winning this. I don't know that the song was the best for her; I was hoping she would take on Heart or Pat Benatar and just rock out. Adam admired the grit in Juliet's voice. Cee Lo said, with Juliet Simms on my team, I have no problems.

Congratulations to everyone in the final four, and may the best contestant win; I like all of them, so there is no way I can call this one.

The Voice: The Elite Eight Battle It Out

Tony Lucca from Team Adam sang How Do You Like Me Now by The Heavy-- Blake felt it had a Robert Palmer feel and it was "badass". Christina thought it was fun and that he and Adam could start a Britney cover band. Cee Lo saw it as a pleasant surprise and became a fan. Adam was happy that Tony convinced him to do this song and said he killed it.
Great performance from Tony, he pushed it and did something different at just the right time.

Erin Willett from Team Blake sang Without You by David Guetta and Usher--  Christina thought it was bold of Erin to do this, she thought it was original, and was happy to see her emotionally involved. Blake admired the strength that she had and loved how she held it together during her performance.
I like Erin a lot, but a part of me feels like there were parts of this performance where she was screaming instead of singing. I praise her for her originality though.

Chris Mann from Team Christina sang Ave Maria-- Cee Lo said the incomparable Chris Mann, your voice is so powerful, stellar performance. Adam said you lend to the show's credibility, incredible job.
I have been waiting for a performance like this from Chris; I feel like this is the type of performance that puts you back in the running for the title.

Jamar Rogers from Team Cee Lo sang If You Don't Know Me By Now by Simply Red-- Adam said, I'm a fan of what you do. Blake appreciated the note at the end. Christina felt inspired to get up and sing. Cee Lo loves Jamar's story and thinks everyone will want to hear it to get to know him more.
Jamar pulled it out this week because he has big competition in Juliet Simms; they could go toe to toe. I've loved Jamar since American Idol Season 8 when he tried out and didn't make it. I don't say this often, but big mistake Simon, big mistake.

Jermaine Paul from Team Blake sang Open Arms by Journey-- Christina thought he killed it. Cee Lo loves hearing a strong male vocal and was impressed with him. Adam congratulated him and said he is no longer a backup singer. Blake said Jermaine is a frontrunner, he is the guy to beat, and he is peaking at the right time in this competition.
I have been a fan of Jermaine since he first came out to sing at the blind auditions. I am so thrilled that Blake has helped to develop him into the singer that was inside him all along. I hope he advances cause he deserves it.

Katrina Parker from Team Adam sang Killing Me Softly (With His Song) by The Fugees-- Blake loved her awesome tone. Christina said she has fallen in love with Katrina Parker throughout the course of the show. She urged Adam to take a look at Katrina Parker because she is a star.
I think Katrina and Ashley were the two most improved contestants on the show. Katrina is impressive; however, I actually have to agree with Christina that it was like Katrina trying to copy Lauryn Hill's version of the song.

Lindsey Pavao from Team Christina sang Skinny Love by Bon Iver--  Blake liked how Christina decided to take Lindsey back to her roots and where she came from.
This is the best I have heard Lindsey since the blind auditions. There is something so unusual and so original about her. Could she be the dark horse?

Juliet Simms from Team Cee Lo sang It's A Man's Man's Man's World by James Brown-- Adam called the performance special, unbelievable, and said that it captured all the judges. Christina said that song takes her back to when she sang it on the Grammy Awards. Cee Lo said, you killed it baby, you killed it.
I have been skeptical of Juliet for a while. I felt there was nothing that compared to her original performance of Oh Darlin'. It cemented me being a fan, but I had doubts with her performances going forward. She won me back tonight, her performance was memorable, she could have gone first and still received big votes because that's just how wonderful this vocal was.
