The Voice Season 28: The Battles Begin with an Exciting Spin

Night 1:

The new twist: the artists have to pick their own battle partners.

Snoop's advisor is Lizzo, Reba's is Nick Jonas, Michael's is Kelsea Ballerini, and Niall's is Lewis Capaldi

Team Snoop: Yoshihanna vs. Natalia Albertini sang You Make Me Feel (Like a Natural Woman) by Aretha Franklin-- I did not care for Yoshihanna in the blinds, but she proved her worth here. She sounded strong. Reba said I thought you were Aretha Franklin standing up there Yoshihanna. Michael said he would go with Natalia. Snoop said I can only keep one of you, my heart is broken.
Snoop chose Yoshihanna and saved Natalia

Team Reba: Aaron Nichols vs. Daron Lameek sang Fooled Around and Fell in Love by Elvin Bishop-- This was an interesting pairing, they could not be more different butt were well matched. Michael said Daron respected the song but took it and made it his. He might choose him. Snoop liked both of them, he said I liked him, but I liked how he sounded too, and I didn't tell you who he is. Niall said Daron was effortless and he leans towards him.
Reba chose Aaron

Team Michael: Jazz McKenzie vs. Trinity sang Virtual Insanity by Jamiroquai-- My preference here was Trinity. I loved how sharp her vocal and performance was. Snoop said this was great showmanship. Niall said you two brought a different league. Reba said if it was a run, you both tied. Everyone vocalized that they would steal. Michael said Trinity love the jazz in your voice, and Jazz your vocal was powerful.
Michael chose Jazz, Trinity was saved by Michael and stolen by all three coaches.
Trinity chose to stay on Team Michael

Team Niall: Revel Day vs. Dustin Dale Gaspard sang Too Sweet by Hozier-- I love Dustin! Reba said Dustin you were raw but refined. Michael said, Dustin our hair is so different but our arms are the same. Revel you were so soulful and I'd pick you because of how you managed to sing out of the box. Snoop said Revel, your performance allowed Dustin to show us so many voices.
Niall chose Dustin

Team Snoop: Kanard Thomas vs. Kenny Iko sang All The Things (Your Man Won't Do)-- I think this is my fave performance of the night, so well matched and felt like a duet. Snoop should have saved his save for them!!! All the coaches were on their feet. Niall said it just got a bit warmer in the studio. Kanard there is something nostalgic in your voice.  Kenny your performance value is great. Reba said dope and fire, I don't know who you're gonna choose, Snoop. Snoop said, Kanard you delivered with your upper register, Kenny said you stayed in your lower register and went to the falsetto when you needed to.
Snoop chose Kenny

Team Michael: Austin Gilbert vs. Rob Cole sang Honeybee by Blake Shelton-- Both of these guys are so good and tie for my fave performance of the night. I love the song, and I loved how both of them made it their own. Snoop said I felt Blake's spirit. He loved Austin's energy, but would choose Rob for vocals. Michael said Austin's voice was sweet, and he loved Rob's performance.
Michael chose Rob, Reba stole Austin

Night 2:

Team Reba: Ryan Mitchell vs. Letter to Elise sang Don't You Forget About Me by Simple Minds-- That was an awesome battle, loved the song choice and how their voices blended. Snoop said I loved the harmonies, Ryan you're a superstar. Niall said that was unexpected and perfect. Niall said I would lean towards Ryan personally. Michael said Letter to Elise your interpretation was imaginative, and Ryan you keep getting better. You remind me of the lead singer from INXS, you have so much charisma. Reba said if you have more fun it will be more fun for the audience, and you did that.
Reba chose Ryan

Team Snoop: Toni Lorene vs. Sadie Dahl sang Love On The Brain by Rihanna-- This was a well matched battle. I love both of these ladies. I was not a fan of Toni's in the blinds but she made a believer out of me. Sadie, I have loved since day one, she is greatness. I love how she emotes. Snoop loved both of them and asked why they picked each other.
Snoop chose Toni, and Niall stole Sadie

Team Michael: Lucas Beltran vs. Max Cooper III sang It's a Beautiful Day by Michael Buble-- This is awesome, loved the arrangement. Snoop is standing up! They both have great voices. I hope they both get to move forward. Niall was standing and loved it as well. Reba is smiling from ear to ear. And all the coaches are on their feet. Peruvian Lou and Super Max Cooper, sang with energy and pizzazz. Niall loved the arrangement, Max you impressed me and your vocal range is crazy. Lucas I'd sit down and listen to you in a bar and order a dirty martini. Michael said Lucas, you're 19 years old, and Max you can sing anything.
Michael chose Max but said he is gonna be there for Lucas

Team Niall: Kayleigh Clark vs. Camille Tredoux sang Cowboys Cry Too by Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan-- To me I gave Camille the edge going into battles but Kayleigh is a superstar in my opinion. She should be making records right now. Reba loved Camille's voice, it reminded her of Stevie Nicks. She said Kayleigh's voice reminded her of Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood. Michael said the way Camille took on the song is a testament to the artist she is. He would give the edge to Kayleigh. Snoop said Kayleigh sang the song like it was hers. Niall said Camille's tone was perfect, and Kayleigh did sing the song like it was hers.
Niall chose Kayleigh

Team Niall Lightning round Alex Brown vs. Liam Von Elbe sang Linger by The Cranberries-- Niall chose Liam

Team Michael: Marty O'Reilly vs. Carly Harvey sang At This Moment--  Snoop said I need a beer, that was an unexpected duet that I needed. Niall said Marty you did such a good job hanging with Carly. He liked Marty's storyteller voice but said Carly has one of the strongest vocals in the competition. Reba enjoyed both but would choose Marty.
Michael chose Marty

Team Reba: Aubrey Nicole vs. Cori Kennedy sang Something Bad by Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood-- Wow they were both dynamite. That felt like a duet. Michael said if I could be anyone, I'd be Reba McEntire. He said Cori you crushed and Aubrey that was awesome. Snoop said Reba has a way of seeing talent in people and then showing the other coaches how good they are. Snoop said y'all made something bad something good. He said that's sisterhood and that's love. He leaned with Cori. Niall said that was a real battle, and he would lean with Cori.
Reba chose Cori, saved Aubrey and Snoop came in and tried to steal. Aubrey chose to stay with Reba.

The Voice Season 28: Week 3 of the Blinds and I Hear a Symphony

Night 5

**FOUR CHAIR TURN**
Dustin Dale Gaspard sang Bring it on Home to Me by Sam Cooke-- Dustin can really sing and his identity is one of a kind. I've legit never heard someone like him. I love the song choice and the soul he put into the song. Niall said that was absolutely incredible, please pick me. Reba said you're unusual and refreshing and I'd love to have you on my team. Michael said thanks for crushing it. Snoop said they saved the best for last. He said he has family in Louisiana.
Dustin chose Niall

Kanard Thomas sang Whip Appeal by Babyface-- Love this song, I think he picked a good one for himself. Yes!!! Snoop and Niall turned. He definitely brought the soul. Niall said great audition, I have no one like you on my team. Reba said I loved your song and you have a great voice. Michael said I need a ticket to the cruise ship you're on, that was sexy. Snoop said I could tell that you were a performer and you sang that song like it was yours.

Kanard chose Snoop

Shan Scott sand Wish I Knew You-- I did enjoy the richness of her voice but I think what threw me off was that I was not familiar with the song. Reba mentioned this as well but obviously turned at the last minute. The song was about to be over. Reba said your voice is like wrapped in a fur coat.

Reba chose Shan

Carly Harvey sang It Hurt So Bad by Susan Tedeschi-- Hmm I liked her but there was something about the performance that was a little rough to me. Reba and Michael turned near the end. Niall said the power you have I couldn't help you navigate. Reba said we can have fun, and Carly said we're matching with the turquoise and she said I know girl. Michael said I don't know if you noticed but I have some turquoise in my watch.
Carly chose Michael

Colin Bracewell sang More Than a Woman-- The song was a little old fashioned. I wish he had done something a little more contemporary. Maybe Ed Sheeran? He got no turns.

Vinya Chabra sang Ironic by Alanis Morrisette-- Loved her voice, I don't think the song did her justice but I like her and I think she could potentially do very well on this job. Reba turned, followed by Michael, and Snoop. Reba was impressed with her and said that they would have a lot of fun together. Michael harmonized with her. Snoop said I'm rocking out, I'm from an era when rock, rap, and alternative were meshed together. He said you pack a powerful punch at your age. You have superstar qualities. Feels like you need to be on my team.
Vinya chose Reba

Lightning Round:
Conrad Khalil sang Caught Up by Usher and Reba was the only one who turned for him.

Liam Von Elbe sang Slow Dancing in a Burning Room by John Mayer-- Loved his voice, the tone, the sound, the sensuality. Gorgeous audition. Song choice was spot on. Niall and Snoop turned. Snoop said the sound of your voice was mesmerizing, you're the whole package. You're what we need on the show and our team. Niall said he could put on his headphones and listen to him and go to sleep, I've been waiting for you dude.
Liam chose Niall

Lauren Anderson sang Midnight Train to Memphis by Chris Stapleton-- I loved Lauren's vocals. You can hear that she is a seasoned artist. This song was great for her. I will love seeing her versatility. Snoop was the only one who turned and he said I deserve you and you deserve me. Michael said I wanna hear the song choices you come up with together, and he said Are You Gonna Go My Way!

Snoop chose Lauren

Ava Nat sang I Love You I'm Sorry by Gracie Abrams-- Her voice is full of feeling but so strong, like such a gentle strength. Everyone except Michael turned and he said he wants to steal her. Snoop said she performed like she was on Broadway. He said it would be an honor to be your coach. Niall said it sounds like you were reading out of your journal. He talked about the emotional connection she had to the lyrics.

Ava chose Niall

**FOUR CHAIR TURN**
Teo Ramdel sang Historia de un Amor by Luis Miguel-- Teo has a great voice, I was surprised. He has a seasoned voice. He's also a performer. Reba said your singing was sensual, sexy, I was very moved, and I have no idea what you said. Michael spoke to him in Spanish, and said we listen to Luis Miguel everyday in my house. Snoop said Happy Birthday to him in Spanish. Snoop said you're not a singer, but an entertainer. Niall said you don't have to understand Spanish to hear a voice like that and the emotion you have with it.
Teo chose Michael

Night 6

**FOUR CHAIR TURN**
Trinity sang Don't Let Go by En Vogue-- Love her song choice, En Vogue is one of my faves. I think she h has real star quality, and I am interested in seeing what she does in the coming rounds. Reba said you're a powerhouse, and I couldn't hit my button fast enough. Michael said, like Reba said, our dance cards are almost full. But I need you on my team. Snoop said, you held it down, come be with me on my team. Niall said you're a superstar on the show, please pick me.
Trinity chose Michael

Letter to Elise sang Take On Me-- Amazing duo, their voices blend well and they fill in each other's gaps. The song choice was masterful. Snoop and Reba turned.

Letter to Elise chose Reba

Camille Tredoux sang Behind Blue Eyes by The Who-- She has a cool sound, her tone is so interesting. Loved the vibe of her song choice. Niall said he loved her Janis Joplin vibe and said he could hear her on the radio now. He loved her song choice. Reba said there was something so soothing about her voice and she had to turn.
Camille chose Niall

Emmanuel Rey sang Primera Cita by Carin Leon-- Emmanuel is from Inglewood, I definitely felt the vibe of his community in his voice and in his performance. He has a certain swagger that was cool and confident. It takes guts to sing a song totally in Spanish to a mostly American audience. He sounded great. Snoop and Michael turned. Mike said he has been lucky to have the Latin flavor on his team both years and he hopes Emmanuel will continue the tradition. Snoop said he has a mariachi singer on his record label, Julian Torres. Mike mentioned how much he liked him and Snoop said that's why Emmanuel needs to be on his team.
Emmanuel chose Snoop

Myra Tran sang Symphony-- I actually loved her style. Snoop said the "L" is not a loss it's a lesson.

Lightning Round:
Aubrey -- Reba Chose Aubrey

Aaron Nichols sang Cold by Chris Stapleton-- Loved it of course, one of my fave songs and singers. He sounded amazing as the song progressed. Reba, Michael, and Snoop turned. Michael said I said to myself Reba is gonna win The Voice with this dude but I gotta turn around and throw my hat into the ring. Snoop said double A r-o-n, join the Snoop D-O double G team. Snoop said he wants that full representation of music and what it means so he wants Aaron on his team. Niall said he regretted not turning.
Aaron chose Reba (her team is full)

Jerrell Melton sang Go The Distance-- Not loving the song, a little too cheese for me. However, the instrument is tremendous. Wow! Snoop exclaimed magnifico! Snoop said I heard how big your voice is, you sound like Broadway.
Snoop chose Jerrell

Elias Gomez sang Lonely Teardrops by Jackie Wilson-- He has that nostalgic throwback voice. I like him, nice falsetto too. Michael turned quick, Niall thought about it and turned, and Snoop turned as well. Michael introduced Elias to Sofronio and said he has one spot left and wants it to be for him. Snoop said you sang that Jackie Wilson song and I had to turn around and see what you look like cause you sound good. And you sound good, look good, and I'd love to have you on my team. The Voice Season 16: Starving for The Blinds

Jacob Maxwell sang Delicate by Taylor Swift-- John and Kelly turned fairly quickly. Interesting rendition of the song, his tone was different. I personally wasn't that big a fan. I think I would like to hear him sing something else. Jacob felt his voice was heavenly and like Jeff Buckley and James Morrison. John said he looked like Leo DiCaprio and he said I get Harry from 1D more often. Kelly has a theory that guys don't pick her.
Jacob chose John.... Is Kelly right?

Karley Moreno sang Starving by Hailee Steinfeld-- She has a pleasant tone. I liked her vibe. She looks the part of a star. I want to hear her sing other songs but this is exciting. Adam was the only that turned. He said she sounded like a Regina Spektor; what she is going to do going forward will be underestimated. He loved her vulnerability. The other coaches loved the purity in her voice.
Adam chose Karley

Luna Searles sang Nutbush City Limits by Tina Turner-- The coaches did not turn. They all told her to show more, the song may not have been right for her. She previously auditioned in Season 2.

Carter Lloyd Horne sang Drinkin' Problem-- Kelly and Blake agreed to both go at the last minute. Carter has an old school voice, I feel like people who are authentic country tend to go with Team Blake. Adam said that song was so inappropriate for your age, and Blake said if inappropriate is your thing and he pointed at himself. Kelly is waiting for a guy to choose her.
Carter chose Blake

Talon Cardon sang Say You Won't Let Go by James Arthur-- I am not liking this personally. It's a little too lethargic for me. John turned for him at the last minute. I could actually see John helping him quite a bit.
John chose Talon

Patrick McAloon sang Runaway Train by Soul Asylum-- There is so much character in his voice. John said you sounded incredible. Adam thought he would be a perfect fit for team Adam. He said that song choice spoke to him. He loves his grit and high range.  Blake said I love Soul Asylum it's one of my favorite bands. We would look good together. I love Patrick, I would be honored to have you on my team.
Patrick chose Adam

Ruby McAloon sang Back to You by Selena Gomez-- No one turned!

Alena D'Amico sang In My Blood by Shawn Mendes-- I can't figure out if she is a pop artist, country artist or maybe both, like a Taylor Swift. I liked the versatility of her voice. Kelly and Blake turned.
Adam told Alena to pick Kelly. Blake said there is no one like you on my team. Alena said her mom loves Blake, and Blake said where's your mom. Kelly said reign it in a tiny bit in certain areas, I loved your song selection. I would love to be your coach.
Alena chose Kelly

Kanard Thomas sang Riding with the King by BB King and Eric Clapton-- No one turned. He had some pitch issues. Blake said I think you're a good singer. I just wanted some aggression. Kanard was chosen for the Comeback Stage!

Dexter Roberts sang Like a Cowboy by Randy Houser-- At one point John, Kelly, and Blake all turned at the same time. Adam turned at the very end. Dexter is so good! He has such a strong voice. He reminds me a little bit of Garth Brooks in terms of voice. John said your voice is so rich. Adam said what you do is so astounding. I turned out of respect, but I don't want you to pick me. Don't pick me, because it would be too bold, too daring, and we would go too far. John said Blake is here to limit you and we are here to expand your horizons. Kelly said males never pick me on this show. Blake said who sings that song? And Adam said that is crap because if someone sings something you don't know Blake you said I don't know that song but I am just a fan of you, and he does an impersonation of Blake. Blake said I just happen to know what I love.
Dexter chose Blake

Jej Vinson sang Passionfruit by Drake -- Kelly turned early and then Blake followed by John and Adam. Wow! His voice was so special. He can sing low beautifully and high with so much strength. That was amazing. Adam said you're a better singer than all of us. John said it is like you picked the note you wanted and pulled it out of the air. He said I am glad you got 4 chairs, you deserved it. Blake said everyone is nervous talking to you right now. You might be the winner of the Voice.  Kelly said I can win this show with you, you're incredible!
Jej chose Kelly! 4 Chair Turn!

Top 3 tonight--- Jej, Dexter, and Patrick. I also loved Karley, something special about her.
