9-1-1 on FOX @ 8pm-- Season 3 premieres on September 23rd-- A tsunami hits the Santa Monica Pier, Ronda Rousey guest stars as a firefighter. This premise will be similar to the earthquake last year which was spread over the course of more than one episode. Rumor has it, Buck will be in the wrong place at the wrong time, hopefully he will make it out alive. 

The Voice on NBC @ 8pm-- Season 17 premieres on September 23rd-- Blake is back without Adam; I'm sad! However, the cowboy returns with John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and real life love Gwen Stefani. 

All American on The CW @ 8pm-- Season 2 premieres on October 7th-- My fave new series of last year is back! Now a football champion-- Spencer is faced with a big decision, return to Coach Baker and his team in Beverly Hills or be reunited with his family in Crenshaw and play for his father. He has made a lot of ties in Beverly Hills in the past year-- The Bakers, who have been like his second family including Jordan and Olivia, his girlfriend Layla who is continuing to battle her own demons, and Asher once enemy turned ally. The Bakers are struggling to deal with the fallout of Billy's lies and adapt to their new "normal". Spencer is thrown a curveball and it will affect everyone in his life including best friend Coop who is desperate to walk away from gang life and pursue music. 

Bluff City Law on NBC @ 10pm-- NEW Series premieres September 23rd-- Caitlin McGee plays Sydney Strait a lawyer who worked at her father's celebrated law firm until their volatile relationship forced her to walk away. Following many years of not speaking to her father Elijah, played by the incomparable Jimmy Smits, Sydney is forced back into the fold when her mother passes away. Hoping to reconnect with his daughter, Elijah asks Sydney to rejoin his firm. She does so with the belief that this may be her only chance to truly have a positive effect on the world. 


Tuesday

Mixedish on ABC @ 9pm-- NEW Series premieres September 24th-- I think I have caught maybe a total of 10 minutes or so of Blackish over the years, but Mixedish intrigues me. I like the premise-- the exploration of being mixed and how it ties into 80s headlines. The cast is strong Tika Sumpter and Mark Paul Gosselaar play Bow's mom and dad respectively. Tracee Ellis Ross narrates. 

FBI on CBS @ 9pm-- Season 2 premieres September 24th-- In the premiere, a bomb goes off in a restaurant in Queens. The case becomes personal for Agent Zidan who goes undercover to prevent another attack. Alana de la Garza joins the cast as Agent Isobel Castille. 

Empire on FOX @ 9pm-- Season 6, The Final Season, premieres September 24th-- Jussie Smollett will not return for the final season. His character Jamal's absence is explained by saying he is on his honeymoon with Kai. Katlynn Simone, Meta Golding, Mario, and Wood Harris have all been promoted to series regulars this season. Katlynn Simone plays up and coming star Treasure. Meta Golding is Teri, a woman wrongly incarcerated and Andre's new love. Mario plays Devon, an R&B star at the beginning of his career. Lastly, Wood Harris is Damon Cross, an international money launderer. The biggest news of this season is that it's the last, and the question is-- who will rule The Empire?

This is Us on NBC @ 9pm-- Season 4 premieres September 24th-- I'm just going to leave this video clip right here, it explains it all.

Emergence on ABC @ 10pm-- Series premieres September 24th-- The trailer for this new series drew my interest, it's a thriller and it's described as "character driven". A police chief takes in a young girl who she found near the site of a mysterious accident. The investigation reveals a conspiracy bigger than she ever could have imagined with the girl's identity as the center of it all. 

New Amsterdam on NBC @ 10pm-- Season 2 premieres September 24th-- The end of the first season left us with a major cliffhanger that producers promise will resolve itself at the opening of Season 2 which will fast forward to three months after the accident. In the finale, Dr Max's wife had a baby girl at home, and following the birth, all of them were en route to the hospital with a couple of doctors and their ambulance was involved in a major crash that producers say will have more than one fatality. The other question is, will Max beat throat cancer?

Wednesday

Survivor on CBS @ 8pm-- Season 39 premieres September 25th-- "Boston Rob" Mariano and Sandra Diaz Twine are masters of the game Survivor and have a combined 200 days of play. So for this installment of Survivor-- Island of the Idols both players hold a boot camp of sorts to help the players possibly nab a million dollars. Boston Rob is fairly aggressive whereas Sandra is very calculated despite looking otherwise. 

The Masked Singer on FOX @ 8pm-- Season 2 premieres September 25th-- Last year's break out hit returns. Who's behind the masks this season?

Chicago Med on NBC @ 8pm-- Season 5 premieres September 25th--  Connor Rhodes will appear in the season opener which will be his last episode. Dr. Manning was injured in a car crash at the end of last season with former fiance Dr. Halstead. We'll discover the extent of her injuries early on. Nurse April and on again off again boyfriend Dr. Choi deal with a possible pregnancy. 

Riverdale on The CW @ 8pm-- Season 4 premieres October 9th-- At the end of Season 3, the cast of Riverdale lived a real life tragedy when Luke Perry who plays Archie's endearing dad Fred Andrews passed away. This season, they will pay tribute to him, and every episode until the end of the series will  be dedicated to him. Shannen Doherty will make an appearance as well and was honored that the show wanted to include her. The episode will show just how much Fred Andrews meant to his son. 

Almost Family on FOX @ 9pm-- Series premiere October 2nd-- Brittany Snow (American Dreams, Pitch Perfect series) stars as Julia Bechley, a young woman who's life is turned upside down when her doctor father (Timothy Hutton) reveals that over his prize winning  career as a fertility doctor that he used his sperm to conceive upwards of a hundred children. Julia discovers two sisters-- former best friend Edie and ex-Olympic athlete Roxy. Despite the betrayal from her father, Julia finds that she doesn't have to go through this alone. 


Chicago Fire on NBC @ 9pm-- Season 8 premieres September 25th-- The premiere picks up where last season left off members of 51 were trapped in a factory with a boiler that was about to blow. Chief Boden, Brett, and Foster are all in jeopardy. A new recruit will join 51 and Casey, Severide, and Hermann all want him there. October 16th, there will be a crossover between all three Chicago shows. 

Nancy Drew on The CW @ 9pm-- Series premiere October 9th-- Based on the books, Nancy Drew is an 18 year old "detective" struggling with her mom's death, in a new spin, she becomes a suspect in a murder! Kennedy McMann plays Nancy Drew and Scott Wolf (Party of 5!) plays her dad, Carson Drew. 

S.W.A.T. on CBS @ 10pm-- Season 3 premieres October 2nd-- Hondo (Shemar Moore) continues to grow into his role as Darryl's guardian. Hondo may become reacquainted with his estranged father following a health crisis. Also seems Hondo gets a new girlfriend. The team will track down an assassin in Tokyo this season, face off with a murderous cult, and go undercover to bring down a counterfeit operation. 

Chicago PD on NBC @ 10pm-- Season 7 premieres September 25th-- The question that will be answered by the end of the season premiere is who killed the corrupt police superintendent and mayor elect. Possible suspects include-- Voight, Det. Dawson (not returning this season :-( ), and Katherine Brennan (his deputy). Also two new characters join the show this season. 

Stumptown on ABC @ 10pm-- Series premieres on September 25th-- The series is an adaptation of a comic book. It's about a private investigator from Portland, Dex Parios who is often at odds with local law enforcement. They think someone is guilty and that person hires her to prove their innocence. Dex is a former military intelligence officer who has PTSD and a gambling problem. Her soft spot: she cares for her brother who has down syndrome. 

Thursday

A Million Little Things on ABC @ 9pm-- Season 2 premieres on September 26th-- It's been a couple years since Jon committed suicide. Delilah (Jon's wife) is still in the healing process. Now that Katherine knows the truth, she has to decide if she will forgive and move forward after finding out that Eddie (Jon's best friend) had an affair with Delilah and fathered her child. Rome and Regina are happy than they have ever been following Rome's battle with depression and Regina's discovery that she was sexually abused as a child. Maggie and Gary deal with life post cancer remission. 

Law & Order SVU on NBC @ 10pm-- The Groundbreaking Season 21 premieres on September 26th-- There will be different ADA's over the course of the season. This will frustrate Benson as she wants someone permanent on the job. Benson will have a full plate with some politically charged cases. Ariel Winter (from Modern Family) will guest star this season as a rape survivor. Returning this season will be Peter Gallagher as Chief William Dodds and Mariska Hargitay's real life hubby Peter Hermann as a child advocate lawyer. 

Friday

Blue Bloods on CBS @ 10pm-- Season 10 premieres on September 27th-- This season on Blue Bloods, the show celebrates 200 episodes on the premiere. Frank invites an old friend to family dinner-- his old beat partner, Lenny Ross (Treat Williams). Danny and the medium from a couple years ago meet again, she is helping the police to solve an old murder. Jamie and Eddie search for a new apartment now as newlyweds. Erin moves up in the DA's office. Finally, young Nicky will make a decision on her future which she will announce at Sunday dinner. Will she follow in the family business?
   

HOT Fall Network TV: What Should You Watch Sunday and Monday 2016 Edition

Sunday: 

Quantico, the second season premieres on September 25th @ 10 pm on ABC-- At the end of Season 1, Alex Parrish was fired by the FBI but was quickly hired by none other than the CIA. This season is said to be more mature, more introspective, less of a soap opera, more suspenseful, and it picks up in the CIA Training Facilities. This season, Alex won't be on the run, and Miranda, Shelby, Ryan, and twins Nimah and Raina will be back to show the relationship between the CIA and FBI. Caleb may return during the season too, the door is opened. 

The Simpsons, the twenty eighth season premieres on September 25th @ 8pm on FOX-- Up this season: Homer's co worker Frank Grimes returns. Rabbi Krustofski returns from the dead in a dream when his son, Krusty the Clown falls through ice after deciding to convert to Christianity. Amy Schumer will be the voice of Mr. Burns' mother this season as well. And my fave nod will come in The Simpsons covering Pokemon Go! 

Monday: 

Dancing with the Stars, the twenty third season premiered on September 12th @ 8 pm on ABC-- I am loving it already, I love the stars this season and many of my fave pros have returned. Keep your eyes on Jana Kramer, James Hinchcliffe, Laurie Henandez, and dark horse fave Amber Rose. 

Amber Rose, mom, model, actor, host and more is partnered with returning pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy 

Calvin Johnson Jr. one of the best NFL receivers of all time is partnered with pro Lindsay Arnold 

Jake T. Austin voices animated characters and also starred on Disney's The Wizards of Waverly Place and is partnered with new pro Jenna Johnson

The Big Bang Theory, the tenth season premieres on September 19th @ 8 pm on CBS-- Season 10 picks up where Season 9 left off. Leonard and Penny's proper nuptials were impending. The question of did they or didn't they will come up in regards to Sheldom's mom and Leonard's dad. We'll meet Penny's family, her mom will be played by none other than Katey Sagal. Bernadette will have the baby this season, Amy and Sheldon might do "it" again this season. And will Season 10 or 11 be the last? I guess we're soon to find out. 

Kevin Can Wait premieres on September 19th @ 8:30pm on CBS -- Kevin James is back on CBS, this time as retired NYPD Police Officer Kevin Gable who wants to know what it's like to live the retired life. The show is shot on location in New York City at the insistence of James who wanted the show to feel more real. 

2 Broke Girls, the sixth season premieres on October 10th @ 9pm on CBS-- Max and Caroline open their own dessert bar. J Petto (Andy Dick) returns all the way back from Season 2. Rapper 2 Chainz guests as himself when he goes to the dessert bar. Sophie and Oleg have a baby!

The Voice, the eleventh season premieres on September 19th @ 8pm on NBC-- Adam Levine and Blake Shelton return and Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus join the gentlemen in the chairs looking for talent. 

Jane the Virgin, the third season premieres on October 17th @ 9pm on The CW-- At the end of last season Jane and Michael were ready to walk down the aisle and Michael was shot! Michael will be fighting for his life in the season opener. This season is a tug of war between Michael and Rafael. Who will Jane choose and will Rafael still care? Is Xo with child? Will Petra emerge from her immobile state? One thing is for sure, Jane will lose her viginity, to who is the big question. And finally Gloria and Emilio Estefan will guest star. 

Conviction premieres on October 3rd @ 10pm on ABC-- Lawyer and former first daughter Hayes Morrison (Hayley Atwell) is forced to accept a job offer from her arch nemesis, NY District Attorney Wayne Wallis (Eddie Cahill) in order to avoid jail time for her cocaine possession so as not to mess up her mom's senatorial campaign. She has to head up the team at the Conviction Integrity Unit and turn over wrongful conviction where there is doubt or suspicion. 

Timeless premieres on October 3rd @ 10pm on NBC-- Timeless has been one of those shows I have been excited about all Summer. It stars Goran Visnjic (Dr. Luka Kovac from ER!) as Garcia Flynn a time traveling criminal. He steals a time machine and goes back in time to change the course of American history in an attempt to destroy the county. A team of experts is put together to try and stop him: history professor Lucy, a soldier Wyatt, and a scientist Rufus-- played respectively by Abigail Spencer (All My Children), Matt Lanter (Liam on 90210), and Malcolm Barrett (The Hurt Locker).

Sunday

@ 8 pm-- The Simpsons on FOX, premieres September 29th-- Say it ain't so! Could season 25 be The Simpsons last? I am convinced that no matter how many seasons this show does, it will be sure to end with a bang. This season Gordon Ramsay, Eva Longoria, Daniel Radcliffe, and Kristen Wiig  all guest star just to name a few. Lisa becomes a cheerleader, Marge blames herself for Bart's rebelliousness, Marge gets upset when Homer sells stock to buy a bowling ball.

@ 9 pm-- Revenge on ABC, premieres September 29th-- Season 2 of Revenge was a bit of a letdown after the drama that was Season 1. Producers promise that Season 3 will get back to what the show was all about, Emily, aka Amanda, taking people down one by one. Each take down will reveal more about who Amanda really is. Let's not forget that Jack found out at the end of last season that Emily is really Amanda. Click the first "Revenge" to see a sneak peek of how Season 3 begins; it's a shocker.

@ 10 pm-- Betrayal on ABC, premieres September 29th, New Series!-- Click HERE to see what Betrayal is all about. The description doesn't give me the best idea what it's about, but it intrigues me enough that I want to check it out. Think the television of the movie Unfaithful.

@ 9 pm-- Believe on NBC, from JJ Abrams comes the sci-fi series introduced at comic con about a young girl named  Bo with the ability to control nature and predict the future. She has been raised and sheltered by a small group of people called "true believers". At the age of 10, Bo's abilities have grown stronger and outsiders threaten to use her powers for their own personal gain.

@ 10 pm-- Crisis on NBC, Gillian Anderson, Dermot Mulroney, and Michael Beach all return to TV and lead the cast of this political thriller. I didn't know how to describe it, but here's the premise, as I found it on Wikipedia, During a school trip, students of the Ballard High School, attended by the children of Washington DC's elite, including the President's son, are the victim of an ambush. A national crisis begins and Secret Service agent Marcus Finley finds himself at the center of it on his first day on the job. FBI agent Susie Dunn also discovers her niece, the daughter of CEO Meg Fitch, is among the kidnapped children.

Monday

@ 8 pm-- Dancing with the Stars on ABC, premieres September 16th. . . . I was on the edge of my seat as the new cast was revealed on Good Morning American on Sept. 4th.

Elizabeth Berkley of Saved by The Bell, CSI: Miami, and Showgirls famed is paired with Valentin Chmerkovskiy

Corbin Bleu who got his start in High School Musical and most recently played Jeffrey King on the online version of One Life to Live is paired with former champ Karina Smirnoff

Brant Daugherty, Noel on ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars will be dancing with former champ Peta Murgatroyd

Grammy nominated comedian Bill Engvall is teamed up with newcomer Emma Slater.

Valerie Harper who became a stand out on the Mary Tyler Moore Show and went on to have her own sitcom Valerie is paired with Tristan McManus

Keyshawn Johnson, a former NFL Super Bowl Champ, is partnered up with Sharna Burgess.

Singer, songwriter, actress Christian Milian is paired with former champ Mark Ballas.

Emmy Award Winner and star of PBS Series of the same name, Bill Nye the Science Guy is paired with newcomer (and Kym Johnson look alike) Tyne Stecklein.

Reality Star and member of the famous Osbourne family, Jack Osbourne is paired with former champ Cheryl Burke.

Jersey Shore alum Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi teams up with newcomer Sasha Farber.

She's done it all from Head of the Class to Who's the Boss? to Saved by the Bell to King of Queens, Leah Remini will try her hand on the dance floor with former champ Tony Dovolani.

Amber Riley moved us with her vocal talent as Mercedes Jones on Glee and will now take on the ballroom with former champ with the most wins at four trophies, Derek Hough.

@ 8 pm-- The Voice on NBC, premieres September 23rd-- The 5th Season premieres with Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green returning to the show after a one season hiatus. Last season saw the introduction of Usher and Shakira, and soon after the season ended, sparked the debate, why aren't they staying? Nevertheless, Season 5 returns to the original mentoring panel....



@ 8 pm-- Hart of Dixie on The CW, premieres October 7th-- Last season Lavon and Annabeth were together. Lemon and Wade called a truce to run a bar together. Zoe ran away from Wade and George to a fellowship in New York City. All this, despite the fact that Wade confessed his love for Dr. Hart and that he felt they belong together. This season: Annabeth is a series regular. Several new players join the series, a possible love interest for Zoe, a possible love interest for Lemon, and a meddling cousin of Lavon's who tries to ruin Lavon and Annabeth's happiness. Zoe and Annabeth will develop a close friendship especially considering that Zoe and Lavon are best buds and now she's dating Lavon. Robert Buckley of Lipstick Jungle and Josh Cooke join this years cast in recurring roles, could they be the newest love interests for Zoe and Lemon?

@ 10 pm-- Hostages on CBS, premieres September 23rd-- Hostages is a short form drama series; there are 15 episodes in the season which makes it jam packed with action. Toni Collette plays a surgeon Dr. Ellen Sanders who is ordered by rogue FBI Agent Duncan Carlisle played by Dylan McDermott to assassinate the president when she operates on him. With Ellen's family threatened, what will she do?

@ 10 pm-- The Blacklist on NBC, premieres September 23rd-- The plot as I have read and heard it many times: "Raymond "Red" Reddington (played by James Spader), one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives, surrenders in person at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. He claims that he and the FBI have the same interests: bringing down dangerous criminals and terrorists. Reddington will cooperate, but insists that he will speak only to Elizabeth Keen (played by Megan Boone), a rookie FBI profiler. Keen questions Reddington's sudden interest in her, though he claims that Keen is very special. After the FBI brings down a terrorist he provided information on, Reddington reveals that the terrorist is only just the first of many. In the last two decades, he made a list of criminals and terrorists he believes the FBI can not find because they did not know they exist and that they matter the most. Reddington calls it "The Blacklist"".

@ 8 pm-- Almost Human on FOX, premieres November 4th-- Another J.J. Abrams sci-fi infused drama, this one stars Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, and Minka Kelly. Almost Human is a police procedural and takes place 35 years in the future and pairs human cops with a robot cop counterpart.

@ 10 pm-- Intelligence on CBS, premieres February 24th-- This is one of the shows I am most excited about. It's a great cast that includes Josh Holloway from LOST in the starring role along with Marg Helgenberger in a strong supporting cast. Holloway is Gabriel Vaughn, former Delta Force turned U.S. Cyber Command über-agent with a micro chip implanted in his brain.

Tuesday

@ 8 pm-- Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC, premieres September 24th-- If you're a fan of the Marvel movies, you'll be interested in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films; he puts together the best agents from around the globe to form an elite organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Their job is to serve and protect the public.

@ 8 pm-- The Originals on The CW, premieres October 3rd (Special Night, will regularly air on Tuesdays)-- For all those who are fans of The Vampire Diaries, The Originals is a spin off of that with many characters that we saw on the parent series. Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah (all siblings and all vampires), and Haley (the werewolf) have all crossed over to this show. It takes place in New Orleans where the siblings originally grew up.

@ 8 pm-- The Biggest Loser on NBC, premieres October 8th-- Jillian Michaels, Bob Harper, and Dolvett Quince return as the trainers and Alison Sweeney returns to hosting duties for Season 15 of the inspiring weight loss reality series. This year's contestants include American Idol Season 2 winner, the velvet teddy bear himself, Ruben Studdard who's weight gain was fueled by emotional turmoil. Although Ruben's story may be the most familiar, it is not the only story that touches the soul.

@ 8:30 pm-- Brooklyn Nine Nine on FOX, premieres September 17th-- Okay I admit it, I used to watch SNL because I thought Andy Samberg's Digital Skits were funny, think d**k in a box with Justin Timberlake for instance. Well Samberg has graduated from SNL to a costarring role in comedy Brooklyn Nine Nine alongside the incomparable Andre Braugher (think Last Resort and Homicide: Life on the Street). Samberg plays Detective Jake Peralta who's unconventional antics are put on told when a new, yet seasoned by the book Captain named Ray Holt (Braugher) arrives to reign on his parade. For all those soap fans out there, Melissa Fumero (formerly of One Life to Live) also stars.

@ 9 pm-- The Voice on NBC-- This will ultimately be when the results show airs.

@ 10 pm-- Person of Interest on CBS, premieres September 24th-- The popular series returns for season three after what I found to be a lackluster season two. I loved season one and then season two just didn't live up to the hype. I am hoping this is a return to the show I loved.

@ 10 pm-- Chicago Fire on NBC, premieres September 24th-- The end of last season saw Dawson and Mills ending their relationship (I was so sad :-( about that; I really wanted these two to be together for the long haul!) Severide found out that he was going to be a father when Renee came back from Spain to reveal that she was with child. Casey was reeling over the death of his girlfriend Hallie. Shay wanted to be with child as soon as possible. This season? Severide discovers he may have a sister. Dawson keeps her distance from Casey who looks to find inner peace with Hallie's death. Rumor has it Dawson and Mills will both move on with new people, but will there be unresolved feelings? Also, rumor has it that Dawson and Shay's friendship will be put to the test.

@ 9 pm-- About a Boy on NBC-- Based on the best selling book, this comedy looks quite refreshing. It produced and written by Jason Katims who is behind two of my favorite shows ever: Friday Night Lights and Parenthood. Minnie Driver is one of the stars of the show, and I am excited to see how she does on TV.

@ 8 pm-- Survivor: Blood vs. Water on CBS, premieres September 18th-- This is the 27th installment of Survivor. So what brought me back? The good old days. Blood vs. Water takes past contestants and pits them against a family member on the opposing team. Check out the cast by clicking the link.

@ 8 pm-- The X Factor on FOX, premiered September 11th-- This is the third season of the show and the third different judging/ mentor panel. This year Simon decided to take his chance with three ladies, returning  judge Demi Lovato, one third of Destiny's Child Kelly Rowland, and Latina superstar Paulina Rubio.

@ 8 pm-- Revolution on NBC, premieres September 25th -- Will the lights go on? Or will they remain off? At what cost? One of the most action packed shows returns for season 2, and I am pretty confident based on this preview from Comic Con that it's not going to disappoint.



@ 9 pm-- Criminal Minds on CBS, premieres September 25th -- Criminal Minds, one of my longtime faves returns for Season 9 with the remaining cast still intact. At the end of last Season Section Chief Strauss died in the arms of Hotchner and the team finally caught the replicator. This season NYPD Blue alum Esai Morales takes over as new Section Chief, and he and JJ have a past that we will get to know about. Eva La Rue is also joining the show as Agent Mays. There is also rumor that there will be a Garcia and Morgan romance this season. At some point this season, in a flashback, Hotch will see Haley and Foyet alive again. The show will also celebrate a milestone this season hitting 200 episodes! Joe Mantegna who plays Rossi on the show will direct his first episode.

@ 9 pm-- Law & Order SVU on NBC, premieres September 25th-- The other long running law enforcement centered drama left us with a major cliffhanger as Benson was held at gunpoint by a rapist. What happens will definitely have an affect on Benson and change her. Will the new man in her life step up to the plate in the aftermath or will Benson deal with this alone?

@ 10 pm-- Nashville on ABC, premieres September 25th-- The critically acclaimed drama made it out of Season 1, now it has to sink or swim in Season 2. The end of last season left viewers with an explosive finale with tons of cliffhangers. Teddy discovered that his mistress Peggy is pregnant. Juliette laid her mom Jolene to rest. Gunnar proposed to Scarlett but she didn't answer. Will she marry him or return to Avery? Rayna's oldest daughter Maddie discovered that Deacon is her real dad. When Deacon discovered the news, he turned back to the bottle. The closing moments had Rayna and Deacon fighting in the car with Rayna driving and the two getting into a car accident. The show returns with Deacon sitting by Rayna's side awaiting a pending jail sentence while Rayna lays in a coma.

@ 10 pm-- Ironside on NBC, premieres October 2nd-- Blair Underwood plays Detective Robert Ironside. His instincts are second to none and he's as tough as they come; two years ago, a bullet hit his spine leaving him wheelchair bound, but he refuses to let it slow him down. I am a huge fan of Underwood so I am hoping that this drama is compelling.

@ 8 pm-- The Vampire Diaries, premieres October 3rd-- I am not liking where this is going, Silas took over Stefan's body/ identity at the end of last season. The point is, the real Stefan is at the bottom of a river.

There's The Crazy Ones on ABC, premieres September 26th with Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar but critics don't seem excited. Then there's Glee on FOX, the show I fear I will be too emotional to watch following the death of star Cory Monteith. This may be an hour where I watch something I missed earlier in the week.....

I suppose I am writing about The Crazy Ones because I noticed I didn't have too many comedies on this list, and I didn't want to be a party pooper for those who do like comedy. Although, don't expect to come to my page and read the latest spoilers on Parks & Recreation cause it's not happening. The crazy ones tells the story of Simon Roberts (Williams) and his daughter Sydney (Gellar) who work together running an ad agency that has some of the biggest and best clients. Sydney and her dad are opposites, she is the focused, determined, organized one who looks after her dad. Along with them is a cast of characters, in this case, their coworkers.

@ 9:30 pm -- The Michael J. Fox Show on NBC, premieres September 26th-- The show is loosely based on Fox's own life as he plays a former TV news anchor who left work to spend time with his family after being diagnosed with Parkinson's. It's five years later, the kids are grown up and with Mike growing restless, he wonders whether or not it's time for him to go back to work.

@ 10 pm-- Scandal on ABC, premieres October 3rd-- Season 3 of the political series picks up a few minutes where Season 2 left off. Olivia has been revealed as the President's mistress, but who shared that information is unknown; the first episode is promised to reveal that. This year we'll learn a lot about Olivia's past and it's kind of shocking.

@ 10 pm-- Parenthood on NBC, premieres September 26th-- Oh my goodness, how happy I was to discover that one of the most undiscovered shows for the majority of the public was coming back for a fifth season. At the end of last season Jasmine and Crosby discovered they were expecting a baby. Julia and Joel made it official and adopted Victor. Amber and Ryan got back together. Drew graduated high school. Sarah chose Hank who decided to move to Minnesota and Mark walked away alone. This season starts with Jasmine and Crosby getting ready to have their second child. Sarah has moved into her own apartment and manages the building. Hank has moved back and is working in his photography studio, but Sarah has no idea. Max has taken an interest in photography and is spending time with Hank. Ryan was sent to Afghanistan and Amber learns how tough long distance relationships are. Joel is working on a huge construction job while Julia applies for a job at a law firm. Kristina lands herself a new job offer. Drew is in college but still around.

@ 8 pm-- Undercover Boss on CBS, premieres September 27th-- I love Undercover Boss. I wish that some of the companies I have worked for over the years would participate in it because it would give them such an honest look of not only the good parts of their company but the bad. In any place you work, there will always be those who work hard and those who don't. Season 5 will bring us more of that as well as more touching moments between boss and employee. The folks who put the show together says it has gotten harder for them to fool people and make them buy into what they try to do with the show.

@ 9 pm-- Hawaii Five-O on CBS, premieres September 27th-- At the end of Season 3, Kono and her ex-gangster boyfriend were on the run from the Yakuza. Danno reunited with his girlfriend played by Autumn Reeser (of the cancelled yet brilliant ABC series Last Resort); and an imprisoned Wo Fat and a visiting Steve McGarrett under siege by the kingpin's enemies. This season Chi McBride is joining the show (loved him on Boston Public). Also guest starring will be Nick Jonas, Tim Daly, Henry Ian Cusick, Daryl Hannah, Carol Burnett, Jorge Garcia, Terry O'Quinn, Rebecca DeMornay, Taryn Manning, Rumer Willis, and Melanie Griffith as Danno's mom. Kono is not leaving the show, she'll just have a separate storyline from the rest of the team for a little bit. Steve and his girlfriend Catherine may face some issues; his inability to make himself vulnerable to her may cost him.

@ 9 pm-- America's Next Top Model on The CW, premiered already-- I need to be totally honest, this has been one of the most interesting dramatic seasons of America's Next Top Model. I love the fact that they added the guys. It's something I feel like they should have done sooner. In a lot of ways, I find the majority of the guys more interesting than the girls. I don't want to jinx anyone by saying who I think is going to win, but there's a good chance it will be a guy. I love the dynamic between the men and women on the show, I love watching how they interact with one another and their chemistry. I can only hope for more seasons like this one.

@ 10 pm-- Blue Bloods on CBS, premieres September 27th-- This season Jamie will have a new partner, a rookie and a female. They're close as can be without being involved. Frank may move forward and date for the first time since losing his wife. Bebe Neuwirth will guest star for three episodes as a potential love interest for Frank. Danny's partner Maria Baez will be his permanent partner (Marissa Ramirez is now a permanent cast member).

Reality Show Round-up: How did American Idol and Dancing with the Stars End?

I never knew going into the week that I was in for such surprises as I tuned in to the finales of American Idol and Dancing with the Stars.

At the end of Tuesday's performance show, there was no clear cut winner for American Idol. Jessica Sanchez threw down with spot on powerhouse vocals, but an odd final song. Phillip Phillips, well, he was Phillip Phillips. He turned in two so-so performances, but his final song was stellar. I thought that about evened things out, maybe even gave Jessica Sanchez the edge. At the start of Season 11, the judges had proclaimed that it was the year of the girl, and after listening to the talent, I genuinely believed it to be true. I admit, in these past few years, I've been all about the boys, but I really thought in the back of my mind that Jessica Sanchez was going to take this, even if only by a narrow margin. It's funny, when Ryan Seacrest announced the winner, he didn't even say it was close. Did Phillip Phillips win by a landslide? I don't think young teenage girls were the only ones who called up and voted for Phillip, I bet a lot of grandmas did too. But, did no majority of any female demographic out there pick up the phone and vote for Jessica Sanchez?

This win begs the question, will a young lady ever win American Idol again? The last time a lady won was in 2007 Season 6 of Idol when a young Jordin Sparks beat Blake Lewis in the final (thank goodness!). Out of eleven seasons of the show, only four females have won, Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, and Jordin Sparks. I think we can rightfully say that Jessica Sanchez belongs or belonged in that company of females singers. Her performances of The Prayer, I Will Always Love You, Sweet Dreams, and I Have Nothing were four of the single best performances, not just of this season, but arguably throughout all the seasons of Idol. Let's not forget that the judges said she could complete with the current popular female singers of today, like Beyonce. There's no question; at the age of 16, Sanchez has poise, power vocals, confidence, swagger, and humility, all qualities tough to find in most artists.

I think this is deeper than who called up to vote for who. I think this is a gender war in a way, but not in the way you think. I think women, generally, find it difficult to route for one another. Our first inclinations many times is to compete, to feel jealous, or to envy; I am woman enough to admit it. For the most part, I have no problem admitting that Jessica Sanchez was hands down deserving of this win. I also have no issue saying that Phillip Phillips worked hard, struggled with a bum kidney, and pushed his way to the end.

Jessica said in an interview, following the finale, that she knew Phillip would win, and that he deserved it, that he had worked so hard. I agree, but I would like to make the argument that the majority of the top finalists worked hard. What about Joshua Ledet? He worked the stage every week, like he had been there his entire life; he worked hard. Skylar Laine was a pro, like a young Reba who got up there every week with a fierceness that was impossible to deny; she worked hard. And what about young Jessica Sanchez, at the age of 16, she probably had more to prove than most. She got up there every week, humble, turning in not one bad performance. The judges used their "save" on her and she was shocked! I think the only person who was shocked that Jessica was saved, was Jessica. Jessica worked hard. Maybe at the end there are no winners and losers. If they worked hard, they won, and now they're going on tour. After the tour is over, some contestants will go back to their lives, and some will start new lives. Some will receive recording contracts and some will not. The experience is special, it shapes you, and maybe it's what you do with that experience that makes you a winner. If not, what was all the hard work for?

I was pleasantly surprised with Dancing with the Stars but I have felt that way the entire season. This was, by far, the best cast that they have ever had, and I went into thinking who are these people? They're superstars. The top three was exactly as it should be, William Levy and Cheryl Burke were the second runners up, Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas were the first runners up, and Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd were crowned as Ballroom Champions. Rightfully so, Donald worked his tush off and was underscored for most of the season. He took bigger risks than anyone else, and those risks paid off because they were executed so well. Peta went from being voted off first to winning the entire competition. Kudos to her for listening to her partner, finding out the styles and dances that fit him well, and choreographing to those strengths. Early talk of the upcoming season of the show is that it will be an All Star cast of past contestants. Donald has already said he won't come back, but let's not count out Gilles Marini! Congratulations to all the amazing celebrities and pros from Season 14. A friend of mine who has never watched the show before even became a fan, and that's a huge feat, trust me.

Reality Show Crazy! Dancing With The Stars Edition

Last week on Dancing With The Stars we lost Martina Navratilova and Tony Dovolani. Poor Tony always gets stuck with the duds. I like Martina very much, especially as a tennis player, but she was the right person to go home. This year's cast is very impressive; their third week dances seemed far more advanced when compared to week three of past seasons.

I love week three because it's the week where the contestants do a dance based on the most memorable year of their lives. As you can imagine, this round of dances was emotional for the amateurs.

Highlights for me were Maria and Derek's Rumba, it was super sexy, and I wasn't a huge fan of Maria before but if she keeps dancing like this, I certainly will be. It was so completely 80s and I loved it.

Sherri and Val's Rumba, although it wasn't the best dance of the night, but it was extremely emotional for Sherri because it was dedicated to her son, Jeffrey, who she calls her miracle baby. I think when you dance from the heart and connect with the song, the dance just flows and that's what we experienced here.

Jaleel and Kym's Rumba was just so cool because Jaleel brought back that smooth factor. There are stories circulating that he got really emotional and in fact, angry, during rehearsals this past week. It was upsetting to hear that because he has such heart and I think the only thing he should do to step it up is to get better at the quick dances so he can truly make a run for this.

William and Cheryl's Salsa was caliente. I love the chemistry between these two, William seems like a legit dancer already. There was a minor issue in the dance but this was a complete celebration, William's dance was about the year he came to America from Cuba with his family. They started a new life, and that happiness really came out in the dance.

Donald and Peta's Rumba was also a standout for me, and very unexpected too. I did not expect Donald to be this good, but he is, and he was clearly touched by the music, the dance, and the memory of his friend who died from cancer in 2010. Peta's choreography was lovely and Donald was so moved he couldn't even speak after the dance. He is someone I expect to see come the finale.


I think ultimately Gavin or Gladys is going home. Gavin has shown more growth, improving every week, so I give him the edge to stay.

Reality Show Crazy! The Voice Edition

This television season, which commenced in Fall of 2011 has been one of the best to date. I have never been so torn as to which show to watch. My latest dilemma is that The Voice on NBC is pitted against Dancing With The Stars on ABC. DWTS is one of the few shows that I actually watch on ABC, in fact, other than General Hospital, Revenge, The Bachelor, and the upcoming series, Scandal, I like to stay clear of ABC. My feelings are still hurt by the way they handled the unfortunate and uncalled for demise of All My Children and One Life to Live. Rumor has it that Katie Couric, who will be getting her own show on ABC Daytime in Fall 2012 at 3pm (GH's current time slot) is so unhappy with the performance of her would be lead in show The Revolution that she wants that show to be taken off the air and General Hospital to move to the 2pm time slot to be her lead in instead. Soap fans everywhere are praying that this scenario will happen.

The Voice is, in a way, the anti American Idol. The funny thing is, I love both and wouldn't miss an episode if I can help it. I love the judges and the fact that they are artists who are currently on the charts right now. I love how itunes is such an integral part of the show. Basically, they're testing these artists out now and saying, how will they perform on the charts next to current popular artists. Over the past few weeks, the judges, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green have gone through their selection process beginning with the blind auditions. The blind auditions is one of the most clever things on reality TV right now. Truly, a voice should initially be judged by only the voice, it's everything, it's what really matters. The stage presence, the look, the style, the moves--- all those things can only come if you have the voice. We're in an age where we're starting to get away from auto tune and over producing a singer and instead we're beginning to push real talent. Singers like Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, Usher embody that pure talent and the complete package. Next, the contestants moved onto the Battle Rounds where the judges cut their teams in half by having two artists on their team square off against one another.

Last night, the winners from the battle rounds of team Blake and team Christina performed for the public's votes for the first time this season. Viewers could vote by phone, text, online on Facebook or The Voice's official website, and by purchasing a contestant's song on itunes.

The performances:
*Jermaine Paul-- Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi, I love this guy and I do want him to advance but I think this was the wrong choice of song for him.

*Chris Mann-- Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel, How far can an opera singer go in this competition is the real question?

*Rae Lynn-- Wake Up Call by Maroon 5, She is going to be country's new star. I loved this performance and I don't understand all those people who are saying it wasn't very good. It had energy, spunk, and her vocals were very rock country.

*Moses Stone-- Stronger/ Power by Kanye West, The vocals weren't so strong but Moses is an entertainer.

*Naia Kete-- Turning Tables by Adele, I love Naia's unique style but there were lots of pitchy moments in this. Will it be enough to pull her through?

*Lindsay Pavao-- Somebody That I Used To Know by Goyet, I love her voice, her tone is awesome, this is someone who I think would record an unreal record. She and Charlotte are similar but Lindsay is the stronger vocalist.

*Jordis Unga-- Alone by Heart, Jordis has been one of my favorites from the beginning. I think we need a female vocalist like her on the market.

*Sera Hill-- Find Your Love by Drake, Sera owned this performance, I don't think it was the best of the night, but enough to move on.

*Erin Willett-- Living in The City by Stevie Wonder, Erin probably turned in the best technical performance of the night. She has a voice, and she used it beautifully tonight.

*Ashley de la Rosa-- Right Through You by Alanis Morrisette, This young lady was probably the most improved performer of the night. She stepped it up in a big way.

*Charlotte Sometimes-- Mystery Business by Paramore, I didn't like this, and it's sad cause I liked Charlotte, but I agree with Adam saying there were some pitch problems.

*Jesse Campbell-- What a Wonderful World by Louie Armstrong, This is the one to beat, at least tonight, and definitely one of the tops in the competition. Jesse is in a class by himself, his phrasing was beautiful.

The Amazing Race is always so fun to watch; pick your favorite team and watch them race around the world. This year's teams include past Survivor contestants who also happen to be dating, Ethan Zohn and Jenna Morasca, Former Las Vegas Showgirls Kaylani and Lisa, former Olympic snowboarders Andy Finch and Tommy Czeschin, Zac Sunderland who was the first person under 18 to sail solo around the world and his father Laurence, and retired NFL player Marcus Pollard with his wife Amani.

Some stops rumored this season include: Denmark, Indonesia, Thailand, Malawi, Belgium, and Taiwan!

The Simpsons returns for its 23rd season continuing its run as the longest running comedy series on television. Homer is kidnapped in the season opener, and executive producer Al Jean promises plenty more adventures like Maggie going missing, and Homer becoming a hairdresser. This season's guest voices/ stars include: Halle Berry, Paul Rudd, Ricky Gervais, Rachel Weisz, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Alyson Hannigan and Joe Mantegna; basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar; lifestyle guru Martha Stewart; and pop sensation Katy Perry, who appears in a live-action sequence alongside Simpsons puppets. Allen Gregory is a new half hour animated comedy co-created by Jonah Hill from Superbad, Andrew Mogel, and Jarrad Paul. The title character Allen Gregory is the story of a seven year old boy who acts like a grown up. This is the first time in a long time I have been this excited about a new animated series; I watched some clips and I found myself laughing out loud. Premieres: Oct. 30th

Losers: Once Upon a Time on ABC, good idea in theory but I don't think this translates well as a series on TV. I don't see this series getting past season 1 or in this case, probably the first chapter.

Inspired by fairy tales, Once Upon A Time takes place in Storybrooke, Maine where fairy tale characters look like normal people and don't remember their true identities or anything about their true lives.
Premieres: Oct. 23rd

9pm time slot--

Winners: The final season of Desperate Housewives on ABC and The Good Wife on CBS really started to heat up and get interesting in it's second season. The third season trailers prove that it has not lost momentum.

I must admit, after the first four seasons of Desperate Housewives, I became desperate to find something better on television to watch. There was something about it that wasn't entertaining anymore. I think it started to change during season five where everything had flashed forward five years. When I heard that this season was the last, I was excited, not because it was ending, but because I hoped that somehow that magic that they had seasons one through four would come back in season eight; I am keeping my fingers crossed! Series creator Marc Cherry promises a classy ending, but with housewives that hot, who wants classy? Premieres: Sept. 25th

I missed the entire second season of The Good Wife, one of my biggest regrets ever from this previous season of TV. I began seeing clips everywhere from last season, and I thought to myself, why didn't I watch. This season I have absolutely no excuse. Winners: the newbie, Pan Am on ABC and an oldie but goodie, CSI: Miami on CBS.

In 1963, Pan Am was the biggest name in the airline industry. In the 60's, only people who had money could afford the modern luxury of air travel. For women who became airline stewardesses, it meant a free way of seeing the world that they would be unexposed to otherwise. They became seen by men as the most desirable women to be with. The pilots were like rock stars; there was nothing a Pan Am Pilot couldn't do. I love that being someone who didn't experience the 60's this is a look at those times http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.giffor me, and for those who did, it brings back that warm, exciting nostalgia that only the 60's can deliver. Entering it's tenth season, CSI: Miami proves that old habits die hard. With a cast that's worth its weight in gold, this CSI franchise is without question the strongest of the bunch. What's in store this season? Horatio has a long time nemesis played by Carlos Bernard from 24, and he becomes a real pain in the butt. Expect to see more romance with Calleigh and Eric, especially since Emily Proctor is no longer pregnant. Later in the season, Calleigh talks adoption! Also, a season long mystery will kick off, it involves a psycho doctor and an ambulance van used as a private torture chamber. Yikes!

Monday

8pm time slot--

Winners: Two reality shows will square off, it's Dancing with the Stars on ABC versus The Sing Off on NBC. Don't ask, I have no idea which one I am going to choose.

Losers: Terra Nova on FOX; it has all the hype, but I don't see it being a ratings success. I don't know if I want to watch another "Lost"-like show. The series has the biggest budget of any series ever on TV, understandable since its backed by director Steven Speilberg, but you know what they say sometimes: the bigger the budget, the bigger the bust.

Undecided: Gossip Girl on The CW; everything was wonderful until they went to college, and then the show kind of went downhill. Well, except for when Serena & Nate and Blair & Chuck were together, but then in true Gossip Girl fashion, they once again showed us that nothing lasts forever. Will all the cast changes revitalize the show or will it become as passe as a leisure suit?

Dancing with the Stars announced its cast which left some people puzzled, other were happy, and then there were those who vowed not to watch. I say no matter what, it will still be entertaining, and you can always watch for your favorite pro dancer. However, there are several new pro dancers this year too.

The Sing Off on NBC has been one of those genuine surprises on television. How refreshing is it to see a-capella singing groups use their talents to entertain people. Due to the success of the past two seasons, the third season has been expanded; there are 16 groups competing this year. There is one new judge because Nicole Scherzinger left to judge The X-Factor. Sara Bareilles joins the panel which already includes Ben Folds and Shawn Stockman along with Nick Lachey hosting. Check out The Sing Off website for details about this season's contestants.

This season on Gossip Girl:
Kaylee DeFer joins the cast as Charlie, a possible new partner for Nate that is since he has already been through every other female character.
Jenny and Vanessa are gone; thank goodness!
Blair and Chuck might get back together as is the possibility for Serena and Dan.
In the meantime, Blair has her wedding to plan to a prince!
Serena is much more focused this year, and her future is looking more clear than ever.
Someone is pregnant, and hopefully we will find out who.

Winners: The newcomer, Hart of Dixie on The CW; Rachel Bilson is all grown up and the trailers for the series look great.

Undecided: a Charlie Sheen-less Two and a Half Men on CBS; this could be a great success and it could be a great disaster. It all rests on Ashton Kutcher and how well he works with an already comfortable cast.

The premise of Hart of Dixie is endearing: It's about city girl Zoe Hart who has just become a doctor and her ego being crushed when she discovers she did not get the fellowship at the New York City hospital she wanted. She then accepts an offer from a stranger in Bluebell, Alabama. He too is a doctor, and wants Zoe to join him at his practice. The kind doctor dies shortly thereafter leaving Dr. Hart his half of the medical practice. From there on out, the series centers around some people who don't exactly embody "Southern Hospitality" and how they treat the young Dr. Hart and those who actually become her allies. For a more detailed synopsis and bios of the cast, check out the Hart of Dixie website. This show has a lot of "hart", I definitely see it returning next year.

This season of Two and a Half Men kicks off without one of the two men, following last year's debacle, Charlie Sheen is not returning to the show. To prove there are no hard feelings (just kidding), the season begins at Charlie's funeral with all of his ex girlfriends in attendance. Charlie's house is put on the market and Kutcher's character is the buyer and I've heard that somehow he convinces Alan and Jake to stay. Also look for Courtney Thorne Smith to return as Alan's love interest. How everything else unfolds this season is a mystery to me, but I may just be so curious that I have no choice but to watch.

Winners: Hawaii Five-0 on CBS returns as the most watched new drama of last season and the most DVR'd series ever, and The Playboy Club on NBC is a new drama about what else, but Playboy Bunnies.

McGarrett, Danno, and the gang return for the sophomore season of Hawaii Five-0 along with some new cast members. Before you ask, Chin Ho Kelly and Kono are returning, but joining is Masi Oka (Heroes) as Dr. Max Bergman and Terry O'Quinn (LOST) as McGarrett's former SEAL training officer Lt. Commander Joe White. I know that the season opener finds McGarrett and Kono in jail, but not for long because White comes to help get them out.

The Playboy Club almost didn't make it to TV and several cities don't want to run the show on their NBC prime time schedule. The cast, for all those keeping track, may be one of the most attractive on television, is led by Eddie Cibrian and Amber Heard and rounded out by Naturi Naughton, Jenna Dewan, and Laura Benanti and several others. The show centers around, what else, but The Playboy Club of the 1960's in downtown Chicago where drinks were cheap, the mob were frequent guests, music played, and Bunnies entertained. However, what a lot of people don't know is what happened behind the scenes, proof that all that glitters is not gold, and that these Bunnies had big dreams!
