The Voice Season 29: Just Give Me a Reason to Focus on the Battle Rounds

Team Kelly: Liv Ciara vs. Mikenley Brown singing Focus by H.E.R.-- For me, Liv has so much soul, I just need to give it to her. Mikenley is so authentic to herself, it's unapologetic, and I love that about her. I heard the grit in her voice, but for me, Liv's soul and growth has been incredible. John said the harmonies were silky smooth. John liked Liv's range and Mikenley's tone. Adam said it was the best battle he ever heard. Shocked, Kelly chose Mikenley. John and Adam tried to steal Liv. Kelly used her "Super Steal" from the previous round for Liv. 

Team Adam: Bay Simpson vs. Hunter Jordan singing I'm the Problem by Morgan Wallen-- I literally love both of their voices in this song. Kelly called both of them superstars, but leans towards Hunter. She said Bay is the surprise for her. Adam said Bay, you understand rock and roll and have a tried and true authenticity. Hunter, we knew from the jump you were great. Adam chose Bay.

Team Legend: AJ Robinson vs. Lucas West singing Wanted by Hunter Hayes-- Obsessed with this song first of all, always have been. I loved the arrangement and how it showcased both of their voices. Kelly said she wants to put AJ in her pocket, he has such a big voice for 14. Adam said AJ is cute, and he has a lot of time and room to grow; he's a big fan of Lucas's voice and loves his soul and he is ready now. 
John chose Lucas.

Team Adam: Bijou Belle vs. Jaali Boyd singing I Would Die for You by The Weeknd-- Great song choice! I prefered Bijou in this. John liked Bijou's connection with the song. He liked how understated Jaali's performance was. Adam chose Jaali. 

Team Kelly: Blaire Elbert vs. JW Griffin singing Never Again, Again by Lee Ann Womack-- This is such a well matched battle. I loved their voices together. I wish they were a duo. However, if I need to pick, I need to go with JW. He is unreal. Adam said Blair shame on me for not turning for you. JW you have one of my all time favorites voices. John basically echoed what Adam said. Kelly said this is one of my favorite songs ever, thanks for nailing it. You guys blended so well. Kelly chose JW! 

Team Legend: Grace Humphies vs. Adi Arora singing Just Give Me a Reason by Pink and Nate Reuss-- Oh wow! Okay for me, I need to go with Adi. His voice is crazy. Kelly and Adam could not choose who to go with. John said Adi, your range impresses me. John loved Grace's presence on stage.  John chose Gace.

Team Adam: Alexia Jayy vs. Moses G. singing Night Shift by The Commodores-- Absolutely loved both of them. They both deserve to move forward in my mind. Kelly said Moses was a revelation, Alexia the ache in your voice, I am like a giddy school girl every time you get on the stage. Adam said Moses you have one of the best vibrations ever. Alexia you make me wanna cry, your voice is raw and broken but strong and fortified. Adam chose Alexia but John stole Moses.
