From Team Cee Lo: Amber Nicole singing Wasting All These Tears by Cassadee Pope-- I feel like this was the wrong song and she messed up in several places and was under pitch for the majority of it. The coaches are not good at being critical when they need to be, it's a little bit of a let down cause Amber would benefit from this information.
From Team Cee Lo: Jonny Gray singing Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve-- This performance was disappointing considering how talented Jonny is. The song didn't build, it didn't go anywhere so it was a challenge for him to showcase his vocals. I agree with Cee Lo, a sound like Jonny's is rare, but he didn't capitalize with this performance. Hopefully he'll stick around based on the fact that Amber had a more weak performance than he.
From Team Cee Lo: Tamara Chauniece singing I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor-- Tamara's vocals were good, but this song has been overdone, and I would have liked to see Tamara sing something a little more contemporary than this. Adam and Blake both complimented her vocals.
From Team Cee Lo: Kat Robichaud singing She Keeps Me Warm by Mary Lambert-- This is my favorite performance so far from a member of Team Cee Lo. Kat has authentic rock star quality to her. I was waiting for her to give more, and I think that's what Christina was getting at in her comments to Kat. Adam felt similar in that he wished she kicked it into a different gear.
From Team Cee Lo: Caroline Pennell singing We're Going to be Friends by The White Stripes-- I genuinely enjoyed this performance by Caroline. She has such a soothing quality to her voice. Blake said she could be singing about killing people and he would still be skipping around the stage. Adam felt that she really came into her own tonight, I feel like she did it before tonight, but I understand his point. It's like her having consistent performance after performance isn't just luck, she has real talent.
From Team Christina: Josh Logan singing Crazy by Knarls Barkley-- I absolutely loved the phrasing and his vocal. Cee Lo was honored that he did his record, and said good job. Adam thought that the wordiness of the song was overwhelming his experience, but he is a huge fan. Christina thought the way that Josh performed it was so original, and she loves the way he ad libs everything.
From Team Christina: Olivia Henken singing Roar by Katy Perry-- They hardly talked to anyone about Olivia's performance except for Blake and Christina who both offered not much feedback. It was a nice performance, but again, what was special about it? I am unsure of that.
From Team Christina: Stephanie Anne Johnson singing Georgia on My Mind by Ray Charles-- Loved Stephanie's performance. I feel like this is what I was waiting for from her; it was so strong. Cee Lo said he was entertained, amazed, and jealous. He felt she commanded the crowd. Adam liked how she opened up the song and changed it; he respected it and thought it was a really great performance. He said it's a song he loves because he reveres Ray so much. Christina says Stephanie can do it all and loves all the great jazz skills that she has.
From Team Christina: Matthew Schuler singing Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus-- This young man has an opportunity to win this whole thing. He is so powerful in his vocal and delivery; he absolutely 100% slays every song he sings. Cee Lo said you make me so sick, I hate how much I love you, you did a great job. Adam said three hearts just broke. He said it makes me angry cause you're not on my team. Blake said this is the guy, forget you, you're so good. Christina said they don't like you cause they love you. You bring such charisma and emotion.
From Team Christina: Jacquie Lee singing I Put a Spell on You by Screamin' Jay Hawkins-- And with that electrifying-ly energetic performance from Jacquie, I say, see you Olivia! That vocal from someone who is 16 is far beyond her years; that was fierce. Cee Lo said Oh my God Jacquie, dang, that was the absolute best. It was past, present, and future, and you are the future. Adam said you were tremendous, the emotion and how connected you were. Christina said I am honored to be your coach, I just love you, you're an old soul.
I think Olivia is going home from Team Christina and Amber or Tamara are going home from Team Cee Lo.

The Voice Season 5: The Knockout Rounds Add a Twist
This season, the twist added to the knockout round is that each coach will have one steal, one final push to form that perfect team for the live rounds.
I've decided that the format I would like to take for the knockouts is to give the results and then say why I do or don't agree with that result.
Up first,
Team Christina: Amber Nicole singing Mama Knows Best by Jesse J. vs. Josh Logan singing Living for the City by Stevie Wonder-- the result: Christina chose Josh and Blake and Cee Lo tried to steal Amber and she chose Cee Lo-- I agree because both of them were amazing. The only way I would have been upset is if either one of them went home. Amber absolutely owned the vocal and performance, at only 17, this is impressive. I would argue that she sang the song better than Jesse J. She's someone who has clearly been underestimated in this competition. Josh had the actual smoothness of Stevie singing that song. It's tough to find a critique when something is flawless.
Team Cee Lo: Kat Robichaud singing You Oughta Know by Alanis Morissette vs. Monika Leigh singing Hit the Road Jack by Ray Charles-- the result: Cee Lo chose Kat, and Monika was sent home.-- I agree, Kat had the stronger vocal and the stronger performance here. It seemed like Kat's been doing this forever, and I liked how she left it all out on the stage. Adam called her a rock star, so true, and Christina gave her a standing ovation. Monika has that sultry voice but her vocal lacked a little.
Team Blake: Holly Henry singing Creep by Radiohead vs. Nic Hawk singing Genie in a Bottle by Christina Aguilera-- the result: Blake chose Nic, and early favorite Holly was sent home.-- Completely agree! Nic had the better vocal, the more original arrangement, and he's the stronger performer. Holly's breathy vocal didn't hold up here; she was pushing so hard that it created all these pitch problems with the performance. Christina loved that Nic made her song his own, and Adam said he loves and misses having Nic on his team. No one mentioned Holly's pitchyness.
Team Adam: Ashley DuBose singing Hey Soul Sister by Train vs. Tessanne Chin singing Stronger by Kelly Clarkson-- the result: Adam chose Tessanne, and another early favorite, Ashley was sent home.-- I didn't love Tessanne's interpretation of the song, but it doesn't matter because she had the better vocal, and she deserved to move forward. Ashley forfeited her opportunity because she chose a song that wouldn't challenge her enough vocally. Adam said he was looking for someone who could win, and Tessanne just happened to prove it more.
Team Blake: Briana Cuoco singing Don't Speak by No Doubt vs. Shelbie Z. singing Last Name by Carrie Underwood-- the result: Blake chose Shelbie, and Briana was sent home.-- I agree because Briana's vocal was nothing to write home about. She had some pitch problems and her voice wasn't strong enough. Shelbie, on the other, although sounding like an impression of Carrie Underwood, does have a great voice. Her vocal is undeniable, and I think part of that has to do with Shelbie's confidence which Christina commented on. Cee Lo also said he loves her charm, and Briana seemed to lack some personality.
Team Adam: Grey singing Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson vs. James Irwin singing Breakeven by The Script-- the result: Adam chose Grey, and James was sadly sent home.-- This is actually a decision I struggle to agree with. Both contestants struggled in the performances, and both of them had shining moments. I am unsure of why Adam would pick one over the other, I mean obviously he has to, but there's a part of me that would pick James because as Christina said, he is so improved. Blake also said he would have given it to James
Team Christina: Destinee Quinn singing See You Again by Carrie Underwood vs. Olivia Henken singing You're No Good by Linda Ronstadt-- the result: Christina chose Olivia, and Destinee was sent home.-- I have to agree unfortunately, and I say that because I really like Destinee but her performance was shaky. She was full of emotion but the vocals were off at times. I actually agree with Adam's assessment that they were dead even. Destinee had the emotion and Olivia had the vocal. I agree ultimately, I just don't like how Olivia is so pageanty at times.
Team Cee Lo: Cole Vosbury singing Let Her Go by Passenger vs. Jonny Gray singing We Can Work It Out by The Beatles-- the result: Cee Lo chose Jonny and Blake and Adam tried to steal Cole who ended up choosing Blake.-- Completely agree. Cole impressed me in a way I never thought I would be. He has vocals. There is something special about Jonny, no matter what song he sings. Cee Lo talks about his voice being one of activism like Bob Dylan. I can see it, and I can hear it, and I can feel it.

The Voice Season 5: The Battles Begin
Team Adam: Grey vs. Nic Hawk singing Domino by Jessie J.-- Ryan Tedder is the adviser for Team Adam this season.-- I loved this battle, it was so entertaining and so well sung. I hope that whoever doesn't get chosen gets a steal from another coach. Blake said he doesn't know how Adam could not go with Nic. Christina said she was going to go with consistent vocals and chose Grey as the winner of this battle. Cee Lo likes what Nic brings to the stage but loved that Grey was wearing black and red. Adam thought Grey's voice is effortless and Nic brings energy and character. Adam picked Grey as the winner of the battle. Blake stole Nic calling Adam an idiot.
Team Christina: Amber Nicole vs. Timyra Joi singing Listen by Beyonce-- Ed Sheeran is the adviser for Team Christina this season.-- Wow, those two girls just lit up the stage at 17 and 15 respectively, amazing. Their voices, range, and performances were just so impressive. Cee Lo called it unbelievable from both of them. He loved the warmth of Amber's voice but was impressed with the cut of Timyra's voice. Adam loved the tallness of Timyra's voice. Blake said the fact that Christina was crying was a win for both of them. Christina said she lives in the moment and chooses on gut instinct and picked Amber as the winner of the battle.
Team Blake: Justin Chain vs. Shelbie Z. singing Don't You Wanna Stay by Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson-- Cher is the adviser for Team Blake this season.-- Another awesome vocal; I loved them both but I would give this to Justin. Christina thought they were a great duet pairing and they blended so well. Cee Lo felt they both did a great job. Adam said the best battles are the ones that don't seem like battles because the two people singing act as a unit. Adam gave Justin the edge being that Shelbie went sharp. Blake felt Justin did better singing this song than he did. I am surprised Adam didn't steal Justin. Blake chose Shelbie.
Team Cee Lo: Anthony Paul vs. Caroline Pennell singing As Long As You Love Me by Justin Bieber-- Miguel is the adviser for Team Cee Lo this season. I echo Adam, that was awesome. I loved the dynamics in that song, each of them knew when to lay it on real thick and when to pull back. Adam said they killed it, the pitch was incredible and the feeling and emotion was there too. Adam would choose Caroline because we were bought to a special world. Blake said Adam was right about pitch, and was most impressed with Anthony. Christina said she felt the heart in that performance from both of them, and they each brought their own thing to the performance. I want to say I loved Cee Lo's line in which he said, Caroline, your voice allows me to dream with my eyes open, and he ended up choosing her. Christina stole Anthony Paul.
Team Adam: Donna Allen vs. Tessanne Chin singing Next to Me by Emile Sande-- I thought in this battle Donna had the stronger voice. Blake felt he had to go with Donna on this. Christina felt that Donna was like Tina Turner and was impressed with Tessanne's range. Cee Lo felt that he would choose Tess but was impressed with Donna's range. Adam compared Donna to Tina Turner and said Tessanne is just effortless. Adam chose Tessanne.
Team Christina: Briana Cuoco vs. Jacquie Lee singing House of the Rising Sun by The Animals-- Adam said he went back and forth but didn't know how to choose. Blake was impressed with the control in Jacquie's voice, but felt Briana captured the song. I have never been particularly impressed with Bri but the coaches seem to really like this girl. Christina chooses Jacquie but Cee Lo and Blake try to steal Bri and she ends up choosing Blake.
Team Christina: Jacob Poole vs. Matthew Shuler singing My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em' Up) by Fall Out Boy-- I loved both of these guys and I think the other judges are crazy for not stealing him. Ed Sheeran gave awesome advice and got so much out of both artists. They both have so much energy when they perform. Adam calls it a musical ass whoopin', but thinks it's a draw and that no one got their ass whooped on the stage. Cee Lo said that the average artist could not perform at that level of internsity and still keep their vocal chops the way that they did. Blake said Jacob was a one chair turn and was more impressed with what he did up there. Christina felt both men were crazy talented, but went with Matt. What I felt was even more surprising like I said was the fact that no one stole Jacob. Big mistake!
Team Cee Lo: Kat Robichaud vs. R. Anthony singing I Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith-- Wow, well, no one really impressed me too much. I also thought Kat was pulling some weird faces throughout that performance. Adam liked Kat's intensity and thought R. came from out of nowhere. Blake agreed with Adam on his opinion of R., but admired Kat's energy and intensity. Christina compared Kat to a tiger and loved R.'s vocal control and said she has much love and appreciation for that. Cee Lo called Kat a dynamo and said he needs a disaster like her so he went with Kat.
Montages.... (oh no!)
Team Cee Lo: Cole Vosbury vs. Lupe Carroll singing Africa by Toto-- Cee Lo chooses Cole
Team Blake: EG Daley vs. Sam Cerniglia singing Something to Talk About by Bonnie Raitt-- Blake chooses EG
Team Adam: Ashley Dubose vs. Justin Blake singing Just a Fool by Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera-- Adam chooses Ashley
Team Blake: Monika Leigh vs. Ray Boudreaux singing Some Kind of Wonderful by Grand Funk-- Awesome battle! This was one of the best battles I have heard, but despite that, it still felt like Ray was the clear winner. Christina felt Ray was digging a little bit deeper. Cee Lo said Ray can SANG; he thought Monika got lost in the record. Adam was still mad at Monika for not picking him, and said sky is the limit for Ray and he's very talented. Blake likes the freedom Monika has as a vocalist and thought Ray stepped up and displayed depth and range. Blake chooses Ray and Cee Lo stole Monika.
